All legitimate things to fight against. You probably don't realize that the more incorrect positions the oppositions takes, the stronger the argument that the opposition is wrong.

Or they're simply ALL terrible ideals.
Great examples of the ethos of my original post- these dudes are so propagandized they don't even realize it

How exactly do you think trump started? He was a fringe person, not even a group. Look how quickly that changed. We'll get rid of trump when he dies, the DSA won't be so easy.

Don't worry, my vote will go elsewhere and I can get there will be a large group of people that will do the same. I always knew the Democrats would find a way to **** up a sure thing in the next election.
Trump is a unicorn and unlike anything we've seen in our 250 year history - no candidate is ever going to inspire a political religion like he has again.

But man how sad would it be if for example, Trump raids our treasury, makes off with all of our classified information and locks up Obama and Kinzinger or whoever, on some flimsy trumped up charges, and we can't pardon them or hold him accountable because people didn't vote for Ossoff because he didn't shout down the fat DSA spokeperson to your liking.

I really hope it isn't serious enough for you that you would be willing to harm our country by letting him get away with it.

And I really do think this is a movement that will die out quickly because the leaders are awful and not a bit inspirational.

Only in the Senate. In the House, TX and CA are represented accordingly.

Tommy, do you really not understand "United" in the United States of America?
You voted for Trump. He didn’t unite jack squat. He doesn’t even respect you.

She’s [AOC] rarely wrong.
Maybe you don't remember these nuggets. "
In January 2019, AOC said:
The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don't address climate change. -- 2. US should "“build out high-speed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary.” (Hawaii anyone) 3. "“Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs.” 4. The Green New Deal provides "“Economic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work.” 5. "“Capitalism has not always existed in the world and will not always exist in the world.” 6, In 2018 she said that "“ICE is required to fill 34,000 beds with detainees every single night.” I could go on and on.

Francesca Hong in Wisconsin who advocates for the abolition of Thanksgiving, is a state representative and received 38% of the vote Wisconsin primary for the governor's office. Those saying that the DSA is a small fringe movement are either living a fantasy right now or liars.

It's what cultists do Buck. Think about it. No different than believing aliens are going to visit Earth and take you back with them to utopia....

So in history, trump is the only person who has done what he's done? Think back, there have been worse. Just think how sad it would be if the DSA started rounding up Jews or some other group they don't like. There are worse things than having two more years of trump. I won't vote for trump or anyone who accepts trump and I won't vote for anyone who is part of the DSA or accepts the DSA. Evil is evil, no matter if it's left or right.

Let me leave you with a few quotes from the Holocaust museum.

“It is important to understand that big changes, the kind that transform the way human beings handle being human, start with small changes.”
– Naomi Warren, z”l

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

To think it can't happen here is short sighted.
That's not what I was saying as my example was about 2028 and imagines that he's corruptly locked up some political prisoners and we would need pardon power to free them, as one example. Let's say the choices are Ossoff and Vance and Ossoff didn't shout down the DSA chair lady to your liking, so you don't vote for him and Vance wins because of it. Without the power of the presidency, they might stay jailed for at least four more years. We also wouldn't be able to hold him accountable for any of his multitude of crimes. Though the mid-terms would matter too because two more years with no guardrails and no election for him to worry about would likely give us our darkest two year period yet.

To me DSA is just as bad or worse than trump. I will not vote for either.

OK so Obama stays in jail because you're mad the Dem candidate wasn't mean enough to a silly lady you saw on tv. Just making sure.

You're taking a "wait and see" with regards to DSA, I'll take a "wait and see" if Obama goes to jail.

that's a strawman...no one is talking about "voting for DSA"

the question is will you vote for someone who, at any point, appeared with a DSA-associated person/social media personality, or was accused of a DSA association by their opponent, or didn't fully condemn DSA as an organization

That was just one example of many I could have used to illustrate how making a decision based on how much or how little someone says about DSA could have a harmful impact.

It’s amazing to me how many of you are consistently afraid of what Republicans tell you to be afraid of. Hell, they’re calling Democrats communists even though Trump is extorting companies. Use your brains.

You can take your opinion and shove up your @$$. I don't care how many companies trump is extorting from. You idiots have spent that last 12 years focused solely on trump to the point you don't even see the next threat to our democracy. You're willing to accept evil just because that evil is against trump. You people are fools. Any group that is anti-Zionist will easy be anti-Christian or anti-Anything down the road. It's called extremism and you're ok with it, but there's no way I will.

oh...i get it. you just think literally anyone who disagrees with is an extremist.

you should have said so. this would have been an easier - and shorter - conversation.

The DSA is actively Anti-Zionist. That's extreme. If they were Anti-Christian, I would call them extreme. If you want to be Anti-Zionist, you should have said that earlier.

i'm able to parse a difference between anti-zionism (especially what zionism has morphed into today) and anti-semitism

i realize it's a widely held belief among some that those are fundamentally the same thing. i don't agree with that. it's not substantively different (to me) than people saying criticizing actions of the state/govt of israel is anti-semitic.

zionism is essentially jewish-nationalism. we can talk about the contextual differences between that and christian nationalism (of which there are many), but i think you absolutely be against a religious/enthonationalism without it automatically or necessarily progressing to persecuting or discriminating against that religion or ethnicity.

Then you and the DSA can be Anti-Zionist together and have a goal to eliminate Israel. I will never be part of that. And since I'm not Anti-Zionist, why would I vote for the DSA when they won't even accept me as a member?

you don't have to vote for them and the probability is that you never will get the chance.

that's not my position or my goal

i'm simply saying that someone can oppose a political movement or concept without being "anti-Christian or anti-Anything down the road."

in fact, i'd argue that your logic - you can't be anti-jewish (or christian) nationalist without being anti-jewish (or christian) is a fundamentally more extreme political position. it's essentially MAGA's position on that issue

Being Anit zionist is extreme? Maybe in the cool 90s X games way.
I'm anti zionist , I'm not anti semite.

Yes it is extreme and don't sell yourself short, I'm guessing you're anti-Semitic as well. It seems that DSA isn't so fringe as some people like to think.

@dpic73 Take a look at the last couple of posts from TC_Nole. That's a poster that's trying legitimize the DSA. I know you might want to believe the DSA is fringe, but I believe you'll find that's it's bigger than you think. Do you remember when posters like riveting were posting about how the good of trump out weighed the bad. Well that's what TC_Nole is trying to do. What happened on the right with trump is now happening on the left. Are you anti-Zionist, I'm guessing you're not, but maybe I'm wrong. I happen to believe you care about our country and our allies.
