That’s pretty alarming if the story is from Military Times.

Too much low-T?

I’ll put this one up there with the other thread you started

“3 rate hikes coming before the end of the year.”

You really know how to sniff out propaganda huh?

In a quickly evolving news story,

Brawl onboard leading to deaths. Looks like Iran is reporting this faster than the Trump admin.
The adviser was reportedly booed at the discussion, and several crew members threw water bottles when he was speaking.

After that, the situation escalated into a fight with the use of bladed weapons, resulting in the death of seven people and several injuries among others, the source added.

Weren't you in the the military? Does ANY of that **** sound plausible to you?

Are you serious with this ****?

Serious with what?

With this admin's refusal to be honest with the public, it's hard to say if this is real or not, TBD, currently "Iranian media has made an unverified claim" but considering this is the "alternate facts admin". Guess lying and being corrupt causes problems huh?

the federal govt and military are ALWAYS 100% honest and forthcoming about how wars are going and any potentially embarrassing stories associated with those wars

to suggest otherwise is silly

See my updated text before your post. Im even acknowledging the source. But again, this admin's complete disengagement from truth, honesty and open books is a HUGE part of the issue. Wanna bet they will be addressing this?

From what I can dig up, the extended deployment and the terrible conditions are legit and there does appear to be a serious mental-health crisis, including two sailors attempting to go overboard.

But the claim that seven sailors were murdered in a knife fight aboard the Lincoln is NOT verified, so I'd raise a big Rock eyebrow on that one. I'd also be careful with the claim that this is the "longest deployment in history." The Gerald R. Ford actually broke the post-Vietnam modern deployment record earlier this year.

I've seen reports up to 9 trying to jump overboard.

We had 1 jump at @3 months and one washed overboard on accident on month 8.

Do I find it fishy? Yes. However, if the other reports are true (admin is refusing to acknowledge anything todate), but if the other reports are true about food shortages and sanitation issues on top of no idea when the cruise will end...... it's becoming more and more plausible.

I'm torn on this one. I've been deployed many times and I've lived through some pretty dadgum crappy conditions, so part of me does wonder whether we're raising a generation that's not built for "prolonged hardship" (I'll go PC ;) ) than previous generations were. I'm guilty of it myself when I look at my 13-year-old compared to what I was doing at his age as a Gen-X latchkey kid.

But I also don't want to use that as an excuse to dismiss legitimate issues. If the reports about food, sanitation, exhaustion and not even knowing when they're coming home are accurate, it needs to be investigated, but what's the scale we're grading on, ya know? Again, I'm torn...you can believe people need to develop resilience and believe leadership has a responsibility not to run its people into the ground. Le Sigh

Exactly. OT: My son has a gf that lives out in the country on 10 acres. She's 13 and already killed her first deer. Her dad told me he's getting her a reloading kit so she can start collecting her own brass. I told my "city boy" son, you'd better up your game. He wants me to take him to the shooting range now. LOL

My 12yo girl and I are going back to the range tomorrow at her request. She has no interest in hunting tho.

i never served, but i imagine the circumstances of the conflict have a HUGE impact on morale and what kind of conditions troops are willing to abide

this isn't post-Pearl Harbor WW2...this is yet another american military middle east adventure with no end in sight, started by a president that explicitly campaigned on not doing this stuff anymore

Yes Huey, when a young female learns the skills and understands what it takes to harvest an animal and put food in the fridge they lose interest in boys who think food comes from the organic tofu aisle fairly quickly.

Her stories: It was 430 in the morning, I was crawling on my knees to get over a ridge.... my hands were freezing from leaving my gloves in the truck but this was my chance to get in and I didnt have time to make it back.... I worked him for 45 minutes with my heart pumping before making the perfect shot....dont these steaks taste great!

Limp dick: i PlAyEd cAlL oF dUtY!!

Normal dude: Hell of a shot babe.

Good for the young lady, sounds like your son found a decent one alaska.

Good grief, Huey. Why does everything have to be explained to you in finite detail? Can't you gather inferences? I'm talking about how capable and independent she already is at 13. She can safely handle a firearm, hunt, field dress and cook a deer (I've got a backstrap on order) ...and she's apparently learning to reload her own ammunition. She just changed the oil in her family's tractor. Meanwhile, my "city boy" is still figuring out how not to cut himself with a kitchen knife and YES that's 100% on me (and I'm trying to get him under the Jeep w/ me all the dadgum time).

Hell, I was driving at his age and rebuilding my first engine. "Up your game" was obviously a joke about the fact that this girl is kicking his arse in the general life-skills department, not a competition over who has killed more deer. 🤦‍♂️

I'm at my 80+ year old god-fearing mother-in-law's house in southern Louisiana. We're alone since my wife left with her sisters to go shopping. And no alcohol is allowed in the house. o_Oo_Oo_O

I don't wanna hear how "bad" it is for those kids on the Lincoln!!!

jk/nk
My in-laws' house was a dry house until the FIL passed as he apparently was a drunk when he was younger.
Now the MIL just has shìtty wine, so to me it is still a dry house.

There were malingerers in WW1 and WW2, Korea... I'd have been fine doing my bit in one of those conflicts. But this thing with Iran isn't comparable to a conflict with public support. They've been at it for months launching strike after strike to turn piles of rubble into piles of dust. Trump and Hegseth have never gone to the public, or Congress, and sold this war. If I were in the Gulf area I'd probably have some low morale right now realizing you're there because the POTUS got led by the nose into a war, and, it's probably also a bit of a diversion from a massive pedo scandal.
How is someone on their 9th month at sea, and, I have no doubt there are other problems on other ships and at air bases, when you see your SecDef swaggering around talking about low T? Why be excited about a war your POTUS says is urgently needed, but his kid isn't worth putting into the middle of it.
