To get him means overcoming strong NCAA objection since he was not in the portal. The judge said she wasn't overruling that part of the NCAA rules.
Players are getting favorable rulings in court left and right ,Missouri has no spot for him ,so he has the right to transfer ,if taken to court he will win ,The NCAA is loosing every case ,Like Matt Jones said, they should just let it go it's only one year ,then it will be ok next year , he'll be eligible

My fear is that we will miss out on a few really good players only to get a guy who won't be eligible.

He would be a really nice addition if he's eligible though. Hope we get him and he gets to play.
there arent very many really good players out there. 4-5 max and 3 of them we were tracking.

I honestly think the best of the 3 we were after in order were Hall, Mitchell and Kohler in that order.

Kohler i thooght was the best fit because he’s a floor stretching 4 that also rebounds and defends at a high level. But he’s a role player. He’s not a guy you give the ball to and tell him to create something.

Mitchell and Hall are both that dude.

Hall had some baggage. So i get passing on him. Mitchell may have been a better fit. I do think we could use another high level play maker. And he’s a 4 that can stretch the floor but embraces physical play in the post as well. Hes just not quite the shooter Kohler was. Lower volume, etc. With reasonable off season improvements he can be exactly what we’d need.

Hopefully we get him and can get him eligible.

If UK can close here, I'll be genuinely excited about this team. He is a beast and has proven it against UK, among other teams. Not some mid-major we're relying on to make the leap to the next level. Mitchell almost single-handedly beat UK in the SECT last year.

Optimistic here. But these things seem to drag on when UK is involved. Unlike Trimble to UL, for example.

outside his FT shooting, he is pretty efficient and gives us a guy that can go one on one and get a bucket. between zoom, milan, mitchell we have known commodities and i think we feel really good about moreno taking a jump in his SO year. experienced vets in morton and frank. skill guys in kam, mcbride, ndiaye, hawthorne.....and the potential of a freshman. its a pretty solid team on paper......just need it to perform

Compare a potential frontcourt of Moreno, Mitchell and Momcilovic, and add in the depth of Big Franck, Ousmane and McBride - compare that to the opposition nationally.

Clearly, it raises UK into having one of the top 5 frontcourts in the country. At least it *should* be clearly seen, on paper, in the preseason.

He's an All-SEC player. No worries if he can "step up" to the SEC level of competition. No questions at all.

Sure, there's questions if the others can step up ( and perform well) against SEC level competition, but they're going to backing up an All-SEC caliber player now. You have to feel better about that. I feel good about adding him. Mitchell (or Kohler) are quality players to plug into this lineup.

With the way the schedule looks to shake out, we have the potential to make some real noise with Mitchell added into the mix. Protect Rupp Arena at all costs this year, and success will surely follow.

Just my two cents.

I was surprised to see Mitchell had an assist rate over 20 last season. It would've been the highest in our starting lineup last season.

He, however, still leaves some questions on the roster about how we will end possessions. He hasn't been great on the glass or at getting steals.

Mitchell does raise the offensive ceiling of the team. Defense might still be a concern, however.

Mitchell would be the best player pope has ever coached. He has real talent.
Seems that way looking at his highlights and seeing the way he dominated us last year. I agree with what you said. Then it makes me wonder why didn't he enter the draft and go to the NBA because imo he's clearly a NBA talent. Or is he? I'm sure somebody knows why he didn't enter the draft.
