Isn’t this what people said they wanted when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade? Let the states decide?
I don't think it's mutually exclusive to think they are withing their constitutional rights to do so, while at the same time think it's evil.

It's the same with Free Speech. Sometimes you don't like what other people say, but they have a right to say it.

You mean pro-choice groups were for years warning people to vote for Dems because Republicans would confirm Supreme Court judges who would overturn 50 year old legal precedent to satisfy the religious right?

Those nuts! What idiots they were to think that!
Democrats caused the overturning of roe v wade themselves lol you zealots tried suing Mississippi over their reproductive rights laws and lost massively as a result.

Roe v wade was always terrible case law btw. That's why it was overturned.

doctors and patients being able to make decisions on the health of the mother without restrictions from state law (OH NO!)

one example, cited in the article i linked above:

Kate Dineen and her husband Alex Lawton recalled the journey they took to Washington, D.C. in 2021, when Dineen was 33 weeks pregnant and learned her baby had suffered a stroke in utero.

"He would either die or survive for some period of time with a spectrum of devastating outcomes. And so upon learning of the prognosis, I asked, 'What are my options?' And I will never forget the response. 'You may still be able to explore termination if you're able to travel,'" Dineen said. "Travel where? We were standing in our kitchen in Boston, just less than a mile from some of the best hospitals in the country."
Of course. Put the baby down like a lame animal. Sounds like a good plan!

you can think what you want.

i don't think a woman should be forced to carry a baby to term when they (the doctor included) know it either won't make it that far (which presents a bunch of other potential complications) or will die soon after.

but, frankly, i didn't post that information or the link for people that post stuff like this. if that's your response to this situation...so be it.

not everyone is like that.

How is it different? It’s the same concept right? There is more outrage on the left if a politician shoots a dog then kills a baby. Seems off to me.

if honestly you can't understand why the situation described above is different than a politician shooting a dog, there's nothing i can type here to help you

like i said, not everyone is like that.

Abortion up to the point of birth is mainstream democrat policy these days. 10 states now allow for this absolutely disgusting policy and it needs to end.

I am generally pro choice but this is completely disgusting. What possible justification do you have for allowing the murder of children at the moment of their birth?
I take it you are not going to get one?

I admit I'm not a big fan of this. I'm generally for a woman's right to choose but unless there is a medical issue I think there needs to be a reasonable time limit.

Haven't read up on it but if it does require a medical issue then I have no issues with it.

That's what this bill allows.

Does anyone actually read the damn articles before opining?

This is probably a waste of my time. But I'll try as a medical person (not OB). Sometimes catastrophic things happen, at any stage of a pregnancy. If the baby won't survive after birth, why do you support forcing the woman to carry it to term, go through the enhanced trauma and medical risks (of which there are many, including infection, hemorrhage, death) to deliver a full term fetus with no chance of survival? Because your sky fairy says she has to?

That's what this bill is about. It's so healthcare providers can perform rare, but medically necessary procedures. It's not about "killing a baby right before they're born". That's more fear mongering nonsense from the "religious" right.

Previous law: Abortions after 24 weeks were allowed only if a physician determined it was necessary to preserve the patient’s life or physical/mental health, or due to a lethal fetal anomaly/diagnosis or a grave fetal diagnosis indicating the fetus was incompatible with sustained life outside the uterus without extraordinary interventions.

New law: The prior specific criteria were removed. Section 12N now states that “an abortion may be performed by a physician based upon the professional judgment of the physician.” A related provision prevents any medical review process from overriding the treating physician’s and patient’s (or health care proxy’s) judgment.

In practice, this means there is no statutory requirement for a particular underlying condition.

The previous law already covered what you claim this law now does. You are completely full of ****.

No specific underlying medical condition is required by the statute for an abortion after 24 weeks (which includes the third trimester). The decision rests on a physician’s professional judgment.

I know you didn't read it....
You must not know many physicians if you think anyone is performing a late term elective abortion on a healthy fetus.

This is similar to you morons claiming children are getting sex change operations.

You're either profoundly stupid or liars. Or both.

It’s just like putting down a lame animal. Just agree that’s what it is and move on. I don’t believe in killing people. Why not kill an old person because they are a burden? I would hate to put their care takers through the trouble of dealing with them.

Lololololol. Do you even watch the crap you post? There's no mention of surgery. You're out of your element, Donny.
Texas Children’s Hospital Whistleblower Alleges Doctors Used ‘Suicide’ Threats to Push Gender-Transition Treatments on Minors of Low Income Families in Alleged Medicaid Fraud Scheme

“...at the time they would tell parents, "If you don't do this, the child could commit suicide." So it's suicide or treatment, suicide or surgery. And these are families that do not understand. They are taking verbatim, word for word, what the doctors are telling them.”

Scurry off, roach. This only gets worse for you and your lies.

The animal is already alive and doesn't affect the health of anyone else. It's more dangerous in many instances to carry a fetus to term and deliver it than to abort a nonviable fetus earlier. Not even accounting the extra mental anguish for the parents. The fact you think they're close at all says a lot more about your limited intellectual capacity.

I guess my limited intellectual capacity doesn’t allow me to sanction murder. Maybe one day I can get smart like you!
