Lots of excitement about the young group coming up. I think it’s going to be a fun and exciting year for Viking fans. Also, us Viking fans should be thankful for every game we get with Coach. We don’t know how much longer he’ll go, so again, let us be grateful for what time we do have with him.

Anyone but corvian I always say lol, I guess I'm just bitter they put us out a couple of years ago lol
Truthfully I thought y'all were the better team. Those turnovers were brutal though and in a game like that, turnovers are massive.

Little over two weeks til kickoff against Rocky Mount. Been a lot of chirping from opposing teams about Tarboro being bad this upcoming year. Careful what you wish for is all I'll say.

In truth it didn't matter you guys would've beat the brakes off of us too lol
Yea, I said several times after you all played that I felt you all were better, and truthfully should've been up more early, and unfortunately that came back to bite you all. Also, when I saw you guys running all over them, I knew they wouldn't be able to stop our running attack.

The way some fanbases are chirping, we are supposed to be absolute trash. I'm looking forward to hurting some feelings.
And what gets me is the majority of the fan bases that are talking, are failing to realize they graduated just as much if not more talent than we did from last year. And make no mistake Tarboro graduated a very talented senior class no denying that. But seeing some of the comments I've seen about Tarboro being terrible this year is just a wild take.

I guess from their perspectives it's a ton of unknowns, so if they are going to talk, now is the time to talk. With that said, some feelings will be hurt.

Tarboro ranked number one in 2a in MaxPreps first rankings of the season.
As they should. I know it's computer rankings, but it is interesting to see East Wilkes above Starmount to start the year. The top 5 teams all play some good games to start the first few weeks of the season.

Tarboro - Rocky Mount, Hunt, Havelock
Murphy - Franklin, East Surry, A.C. Reynolds
Corvian - Independence, Chambers
East Wilkes - Hibriten, Mount Airy
Starmount - Mount Airy, East Surry

Not sure how good Mount Airy and East Surry will be this year, but they are normally decent at worst. Little over two weeks to go!!

As you said, good schedules from these teams. I know as a Tarboro fan, our first four games are going to be tough matchups. They will definitely help prepare us for what is to come later in the year though.

Plus coach craddock has heard how many people are doubting this team. Gotta imagine that'll add more motivation to the team.

They'll be battle tested come November, that's for sure. Ready to get some highlights, and hear how things go tomorrow. Hard to believe we are already here.

I've heard MA will be decent at best but who knows, if they're able to beat starmount again this year they might be pretty good.

They're ranked no.1 in my pound-for-pound 2A rankings too (no.5 across all conferences) ahead of the season. It'll be interesting to watch this top 10 shake up throughout the upcoming season. Side note: I don't foresee Tarboro losing the no.1 spot by the end of the season either.

I appreciate the confidence. I would not be surprised to see some folks maybe get off the bandwagon if we lose a few games early. Some of these early games will certainly challenge these young Vikings, but I’m excited to see them in action

Just a few quick observations from last night.

Rose looked really good, and in my opinion was definately the best team to participate. Spoke with a Rose fan, and he shared with me that they returned 8 on offense, and you could tell. I think they should have a solid year. They will be tested right out the gate with a tough Northern Nash team.

Eastern Wayne also looked really solid. The QB is a playmaker, and they have HUGE wr. Looking at their schedule, I can certainly see them starting off at least 5-0. They were picked to win their conference, and based on what I saw last night, I would not be shocked at all if they end up winning it.

Northside Bath- they looked very solid again. Not sure what Wilson Prep brings back, but I expect these two to square off again this year. The coach over at Northside has built a really solid program. I know it was only a scrimmage, but I liked much of what I saw from them last night.

North Edgecombe- I think Coach Gold will do well there and has generated some excitement. They have a ways to go, but I really like some of the things I saw from them last night. I fully expect them to be much improved this year.

Hobgood and Rocky Mount Prep- both had some solid moments. Coach Coker at Hobgood has done a really good job there and does a really good job of putting his playmakers in positions to make big plays. Besides Tarboro, I'll be cheering for the Raiders to do well.

Last, The Vikings. I was very excited to finally get a look at the boys in purple and gold. Like most of the squads, they had some high moments, and lows. Coach Craddock mentioned in his interview with WNCT that they had some trouble defending the pass. That was certainly their weak moment last night, but Viking fans should not be surprised to hear this because we lost a lot. This is a younger group, and like with most younger groups, you have times of growing pains, and at times take some lumps. On the offensive side of things, the Vikings moved the ball well. Eating up chunks of yards with each play. Maybe not the home-run hitters that the last several teams have had, but definitely a group of hard runners. The O-line looked pretty good too, so that's a major plus. I trust that the Viking staff will continue to develop these young men and have them in position to make another deep run when November rolls around.

Football season is here!

Seems like Tarboro signed a three year contract with JH Rose. Who's coming off the schedule? Hunt?

Northampton county would make sense. Which is a shame cause I really am a fan of their head coach. But they are down right now. But if I had to guess ,probably Havelock which would be a bummer if that's true.

i think the havelock deal was initially 3 years. This is the 3rd year So probably them.
That's right. I remember when it was initially announced, it was announced as a 3 year deal. Rose seems to be trending in the right direction. They have a really good team this year. Would be a good matchup for us.

What's the reasoning for 3 years? Seems like either two or 4 so both programs get equal number of marque home games.
