Have you ever been to Las Vegas...would you want to move there?

I mentioned that in the preceding paragraph. I wouldn't want to live in the desert. I'm back in TX now, and it's far hotter here than I'd prefer. I prefer seasons, and weather; not just overwhelming heat. I was in LV once where the high temp was 116. **But it's a dry heat.

Ugh, I hate Texas summers. McCoy's Building Supply was once a client of mine and they're located in every podunk town in the state - places Beeville, Stephenville, Alvin etc... and swear to god every time I visited it was 108 degrees and the only place to stay were ****** chains like America's Best Value Inn that had floor AC units that couldn't cool the room and the carpet was always soaked in front of them. I dreaded going there haha.

Go twice a year.
In March for March madness and late sep/early oct for football weekend.
That’s enough for me. Just don’t be poor like th phaggot that mentioned $33 jack n cokes(who drinks those in Vegas) and plan on making a lot of bad decisions

Yah, I'm in Atlanta and it's been a fairly mild summer with most days in the mid-80s and hasn't hit 100 yet.

Nope, it got close at 98 degrees on 7/2 but was back down to the 80s a few days later.

I have been to Las Vegas a bunch of times. It was a cheap weekend trip when I was in graduate school. I can not say that I ever loved it, but I could amuse myself playing poker for a day. I have only been back a couple of times in the last 20 years, and the experience is more gross and depressing the older I get. I truly can not imagine a worse city in the U.S. to live permanently. Hopefully, I never visit the place again.

My wife and I try to go a couple times a year. We won't make it this time.
We have a favorite restaurant that we hit every trip. Also, we always try a restaurant we have not been before. We both enjoy eating well and not afraid to spend.
I like being in sportbooks and being around people with similar interests. You can have a great time. I make a few future bets while in Vegas. It keeps them off my apps.

The Sphere and other concerts are a good time. Saw the Packers play the Raiders a couple of years ago. Raider fans treated us well and we had fun with them.

3-4 days is enough though. I could live in the area but away from
a lot of activity.

Yes but it has been 15 years since I've been. I think I'd like to go one more time and stay at Circa and watch an Iowa game at the pool.

No desire to move there but I have a friend that moved to Henderson years ago and she loves it. Also have some friends of the family that moved to a 55+/retirement community around Vegas. They lasted about 5 or so years and moved back to Wisky. Said they do better with the cold than the Vegas heat.

I’ve been there quite a lot on work conferences. It’s OK and kind of exciting but gets old pretty quick after a few days. I wouldn’t want to live there because of the heat. One time my wife went with on the conference and we got out of the strip a bit, to the National Forest and we went to the old downtown and that was fine and normal priced. But we like to go out and walk and the heat was brutal. Like someone else said I enjoy nature and trees, etc. I have been to another desert like area in Arizona. Sedona. I could see myself living there for retirement with the hiking and better weather, etc. They have foliage and trees and it isn’t overload.

I've lived in Nevada for 2 years and still haven't been. Not really sure I want to. 7 hours to Vegas or 3 to San Francisco. If the drives were reversed I'd still rather visit San Francisco. Coldest winter was a summer in San Fran and all that.

I would imagine living there would be like living in NYC w Times Square, or Orlando w Disney/Universal. You live there and maybe get it out of your system in the first couple of weeks, and then try to never ever go back to those areas except for a special occassion.

Living in LV would be living in the desert, and I don't want to do that. I imagine I'd actively avoid The Strip, except for when there may be a concert or show I'd want to go to, then I'd venture down there and get back out as soon as I'm done.

Get a mile away from the strip and it's probably the same as every other residential area/suburb in the country, with the same shops and restaurants in the same kind of strip malls, just with less grass.

I have a nephew who lives there, and my sister did until she passed away a couple years ago. I never have visited, but based on pictures it certainly seems you are right - it looks like pretty much any other suburb, particularly a SW suburb with rock lawns and a pool in the back with a large cinderblock fence surrounding it.

Speaking of Atlanta songs from that same era, do you remember a band called Atlanta Rhythm Section and their most famous song "Doraville?" Their old studio is about a mile from my house.

Like there? Probably not because of the summers, but it's a surprisingly good base for outdoors stuff. Valley of Fire is one of the most underrated parks.

I like the high desert. And southern Utah in general.

I visit once in a while. I think it's taken a step back, prices on everything have gotten nuts.

I echo others. I enjoy it. But only for a few days at a time. Otherwise too hot and excessive for me. Golden Knights games are a blast. Hoping to get out for a Packers/Raiders game at some point. Will be really fun when the As move in.

I've never been to Las Vegas but know some people who have visited and they either love it or hate it.

I have an acquaintance who is moving to Vegas permanently. He's married with no kids. He and his wife are big into music both listening and creating it.

They live in the Washington D.C. suburbs which are probably alot more expensive than Vegas and have worse traffic.

Would you ever want to live in Las Vegas?

I imagine the people there are pretty weird; I know the weather is brutally hot during summer.
