I think Fletcher makes it, Chris Jones and Jeff Simmons have paths to make it as well. Chris may already be there, but Jeff needs a few more years of high production which I believe he will do. Jeff will get dinged though for being part of bad Titans franchise

Those other guys will hopefully all be first, but Dak is currently only a couple hundred yards from being in the Top 30 all time passers. I'm not saying he's a lock at all, but there is a chance for him as well if he keeps playing and moves up that list. Seems like a generational QB for the Cowboys will always get consideration anyway.

If he wins a Super Bowl, absolutely

We really need to get back to being DLU
It’s gonna be really hard to do that.

I think Dak has to win a Super Bowl to get in. Stupid. But that’s the way it is. Only QBs since the 1970s in the HOF without a ring are Kelly, Tarkenton & Marino. And the all at least made it to a Super Bowl.

Then we aren’t going to win.

And agree on Dak.

Should be Fletcher Cox since he's already retired.

Chris Jones is almost a shoe in but Cox should get in first.

Dak is an interesting one. I think he's a Super Bowl appearance or Super Bowl away. Would be an interesting conversation for the QB that holds all of Dallas' records to not be in the HOF

Jeffrey Simmons has a good shot as well. Probably needs some glory in the playoffs but he's a HOF caliber player

Dak really needs a Super Bowl run. Talk about something that would galvanize the country. I’d buy a jersey for that, even if he doesn’t win.

So if we’re talking about who’s first, you’ve kind gotta look at when certain guys are eligible. Cox being the first of the big name DL to retire gives him somewhat of an advantage, he’d be eligible for the first time in 2029, but I don’t think he’s a first ballot guy.

Jones is going to get in, but it’s just a matter of when he calls it quits. If he retired tomorrow he wouldn’t be eligible until 2031, so Cox has at least a two year head start on him, probably several more than that.

I’ll be floored if it’s not one of those two guys. Simmons could get there too but he’s still in his 20’s and his team has been bad for most of his run there. Would be nice if the Titans became competitive again for his sake.

Palmeiro via the Eras Committee.
Tangent: I am never going to be not mad that Jeff Kent is in the HOF and Will Clark isn't. I don't care what the numbers say. Guess which of those two is still having t-shirts and jerseys sold in the team store at the stadium? It's not the HOFer.

Jim Kelly said in his Hall of Fame speech that he wouldn't be there w/out #67 and that Kent was "the glue that held the Bills together". Pretty good endorsement.............
