He would be a huge pick up.

20 points/game last season. 41% from three. He gives you another dynamic shooter. I actually like him more than Chandler due to his solid rebounding out of the wing position.

Best of all, he makes Kam a luxury. I do not want Kentucky to depend on Kam in any way, shape or form until we see him play healthy.

Diallo
Wilkins
Tyson
Milan
Moreno

That team gets abused on the glass, but they also make 10 threes/game and probably score 85 to 88 points/game. They would probably be the best transition scoring team in the nation as well.

I just don't like this one as well as the others. I know he's a good player but if we go up against UF with Tyson at the 3 and Momcilovic at the 4 we better make most of our shots because UF is getting most of the rebounds.

Only team beating Florida is Florida probably anyways. I wouldnt worry too much about that one match up out of 31 or 32 regular season games.

Still prefer Kohler if we can pick him up. I assume that they are waiting to see who exactly will be confirmed eligible before making a final offer to any of the players on our radar for the 15th roster spot.

I think any of the players mentioned boosts our ceiling and improves our potential. Some, moreso than others. I would prioritize getting the confirmation and making Kohler option #1. I see him shoring up the rebounding and defensive side of the equation and adding more chemistry and team versatility offensively.

The case could be made Mitchell or Tyson could be an even better fit. I trust Coach Pope knows his team well enough that, whomever he picks and gets to come here, it will be a solid boost for the team as a whole.

It's good to have options

I really wish they had kept two spots open instead of one. Can you imaging adding Kohler and Tyson?

I'd definitely take him, he's a good player, but I'd definitely want Kohler or Mitchell over him just because they better address our specific weaknesses/needs.

There's no longer a distinction between scholarship and walk-on in terms of roster limits. You get 15 roster spots, period.
They could do to Kam what St. John's is doing with Freeman - don't count him among their 15 scholarship players. Let him collect NIL, get healthy, and no longer be counted as a scholarship.

They you bring in Tyson and Kohler. Kam gets to rehab for a year and come back completely healthy next year.

Diallo
Wilkins
Milan
Kohler
Moreno

With McBride and Tyson as your 6th and 7th men.

I'd be very happy to add him, but if the plan is to play him at the 3 and slide Milan to the 4 we better be one of the the best Offenses in America, because I don't see any rebounding or defense outside of Moreno.

Is it possible to move Zyon Hawthorne to walk on?
I believe the answer is no but Brayden Hawthorne is a potential future star who likely won't get as many minutes as he'd like this year. Imo, using a 15th scholarship to try and keep him happy is a smart move. Besides, we hired a coach to get Mason Williams; I'm kidding...maybe.

Is everyone as bought into the idea that Hawthorne is gonna be a star? I can see why his physical tools are enticing, but eventually it has to lead to production. Hoping he develops into what he can, but rn it’s really easy to see upsides of recruiting over him

No such thing as walk on anymore. It’s 15 hard cap spots.

Man look...they beat us 3 times last season by an average of 8 PPG. I personally feel like this is already a better team than last season, and if we add in Tyson, I have it way better

Zoom - DA
Wilkins - Oweh
Tyson - Chandler
Momcilovic - Jelly
Soph Moreno - Frosh Moreno

I think with Tyson, this years club is 8 ppg better than last season as well

I agree that we look better than last year; I'm just trying to be realistic about our strengths and weaknesses. By the way, Florida sure looks a few points better than last year as well.

No clue who this dude is but I like what you said about him. I want the Michigan State big man but I like this guy.

I know what he is. He’s better than what he was when at Florida but still I’d take Lee over him with how Florida wants to play. Fland is basically a smaller Aberdeen as well. The front line is legit and will win tons of games but the guards will be the downfall again.
He was that as a point guard here but he is a natural 2 guard and that's where he'll play for them and would have played for us if we'd had a point guard.

It seems like you just want to convince yourself that Florida won't be very good next year. You might convince yourself but you probably won't convince anybody else and you will very likely be disappointed but I'd love for you to be right. To be honest, the thought of Lee being a better 2 guard than Aberdeen blows my mind.

Lee was the pg and now Fland is. Fland and Aberdeen are both 2 guards. I didn’t say they won’t be very good. I said they won’t be much better than this year. Will have less depth in the front court and the same problem in the backcourt. Fland and Aberdeen I wouldn’t say are play makers.

Last years using the players mentioned per 40 coming in was
DA 15.6
CC 10.5
OO 22.9
AJ 14* “freshman. Used end of season pts”
MM 13.8* “freshman. Used end of season pts
Total projected points per 40 = 76.8pts

This years team based on per 40 from previous season.
ZD 21.2
AW 23.9
MM 22.1
JM 22.5
MM 13.8
Total projected points per 40 = 103.5pts.

We’re set to score higher. Defense will be the question

ETA. Our average score against Florida last year was 74.3pts

EATA: Our season average was 80.5 pts

Condon and Haugh will be tasked with running the offense a lot because Aberdeen and Fland don’t necessarily see the floor well.

This. Four-star recruit, buck o’’five soaking wet, zero college experience because he wasn’t ready last year even when bodies were sorely needed. Wonderful surprise if he happens to catch fire this year. Weird guy to gamble on being a major contributor. So if we have someone we know will contribute, not a lot of downside in pausing him again (or Potter).
