He’s going to have a bright future for us. We knew all of this was coming and now it’s here. One week at a time.
KM QB probably the most impressive QB of the evening..he is smooth and you wouldn’t no he was a freshman unless someone told you..
I am at the beach so I didn’t get to put my eyes on anyone myself. I do I have some guys that I trust to give me unbiased info who gave me their feedback.
Both guys told me that the Shelby defense seems to be ahead of the offense and that the Shelby defensive front is really good. Both felt that Shelby will need to clean up their qb and db play. Corvian has two D1 recruits on their DL so some trouble was expected. Overall both had high praise for the Shelby defense but especially your defensive line.

We knew coming into this season it would be a rebuild at Qb. We lost the all time Cleveland County record holding QB who was also Rivals North Carolina player of the year. It will be a process that takes time.
Observation for the CC Jamboree
*We have to take into consideration every team didn’t show much on offense.
Crest- the defense of Crest looked really good and physical, looked good at all levels. The front 7 will definitely be the strong point for Crest very impressed with the front 7. On the offensive side of the ball the running game is going to be really good this year, also great athletes at receiver. Just have to find a QB to get the ball to them. When you lose a D1 QB it’s hard to replace that but Crest will be Crest and be rolling by playoff time.
Burns- the defense of Burns looked really good, Burns has some big boys in the trenches. The front 7 on Burns looked good and are very physical. Burns on the offensive side of the ball has athletes everywhere on the field the QB was a good dual threat QB who throws a good ball but can tuck it and run when needed. Really didn’t see much of Max Davis but we all know what he can do.
Shelby- the defense of Shelby is definitely there strong point going into the season. They have athletes everywhere on the field and the front 7 doesn’t mind coming up to hit you. The DBs didn’t look bad either very athletic. The offense side of the ball the running back looks pretty good and have a good receiving core, kinda like Crest will take time for the QB to get going but by play off time Shelby will be rolling. Shelby is fast though so can’t let them break contaminate.
Kings Mountain- the defense looked pretty good, the front 7 played well, DBs have some work to do but have the athletes so should be good when we get into the season. The offense side of the ball looked good Jordan Jenkins looked good for his first time playing Varsity in Cleveland County. Running game looked good have good athletes at WR. Good rotation at running back. Only thing was to many penalties for KM but expected in the first scrimmage of the year.
Overall good performance for all Cleveland County Schools and 4-0 on the night congrats on all the Cleveland County Teams.

I don’t think Crest presumed starting defense play ed together as a whole…Its kinda weird that the jamboree is the first scrimmage and with the County talent I think all the Coaches where smart enough not to show to much..

I watch one thing in the jamboree more than others that you can’t hide and that is the boys up front. You can call vanilla plays and swap out skill but you cannot hide what is up front. No lineman in the world that deserves to be on the field has the ability to purposely go soft when that whistle blows. QB play is important because everyone had someone new but when the plays are watered down it takes away what they will really do when it counts. 2A school out of Spartanburg I believe. Went 10-2 last year.

Last night we had absolutely no contact with the QB’s in our scrimmage. What were the rules at the CC Jamboree and does anyone know if that will be the same for the GC jamboree?
It was full on game situation outside of special teams which was simulated. The snap or kick was immediately followed by a whistle on FG, Punt and Kickoff.

I saw where Lincolnton whipped South Point pretty good.
That is what I am hearing from the Big Red (well at least the ones who still talk to me this time of year). I think they will be fine, that offense seems to work its magic year in and year out. They did lose a lot of good seniors last year however. I am interested to see how they look this week against Burns.

Kids just started to hit less than a week ago and some are wanting to change this and that. lol Not one team, home or away showed anything compared to what they will look like in 2 weeks. I just don’t see how you can establish an identity of your team yet. I saw things good and bad for all the teams but things will be just fine in CC. lol Just shows how spoiled we are. A players dad is the main one. How can you leave a school and start barking orders at another like you’ve been there?

Yes they are. Some shouldn’t be on there repping their kid and put their name out there like that. College coaches don’t just recruit the kid, they recruit the family if that makes sense.
