If those teams are getting 17-18 mil...we get 25!I mean ya, obviously. Note Dame is getting 18 million a year and OSU 17 million, you can’t turn down that kind of money and still be competitive. Wondering if the schools will sign short term deals though and not get locked in as the price keeps changing. I think if UK can get at least 10-12 million they would be happy. That’s a higher chunk of change and will further separate the big schools from the small.

On ANY jersey.Ewwww.
I really hate seeing this stuff on blue blood jerseys.
Given the state of things now, my interest has already begun to wane. This will only accelerate it.Ewwww.

Please tell me this was sarcasm. If those teams are getting 17-18 mil...we get 25!
Who gives a crap about patches on jerseys? If that makes you stop watching you didn’t really like basketballGiven the state of things now, my interest has already begun to wane. This will only accelerate it.
There are A LOT of folks who care about this patch-on-jersey issue. You must be young. If you think being a basketball fan means you're okay with this, then you do not represent the BBN that I know.Who gives a crap about patches on jerseys? Again your saying you would genuinely stop watching the sport of basketball over a patch on the jersey? There are A LOT of folks who care about this patch-on-jersey issue. You must be young. I dislike the over-commercialization of college athletics. When something becomes unacceptable to me, whether I like or liked it, I no longer engage with it.Who gives a crap about patches on jerseys? If that makes you stop watching you didn’t really like basketball
I'm a whole lot less against this than I am them begging already paying customers for more money to make your payroll. They've already been wearing a patch for decades.

I eat Old Purnell’s Country Sausage coz it’s made right. “It’s gooooooood” and also because, as a child, I associated it with Kentucky basketball. These businesses aren’t just throwing money away. They know what they’re getting when it comes to marketing these types of things.A patch on a jersey or a stadium named something has never once caused me to patronize a product/business. If Kroger stopped sponsoring Kroger field, if the field was no longer named "Kroger Field," I highly doubt people would stop going to Kroger. That's what I don't get about these big sponsorship deals, does the sponsorship really have a direct impact on revenue for the businesses at all?
I might buy a product because of a good commercial, but not because that commercial was specifically on during a sporting event. Aside from that, I'm more talking about sponsorships and naming rights, not commercials. I will note one caveat...sponsorships sometimes buy commercial time during that team's events. However, names on a field, signs in a park, decals on a car, or broadcast statements like, "this broadcast was made possible by [insert company]" have never convinced me to be a customer of whatever business.I eat Old Purnell’s Country Sausage coz it’s made right. “It’s gooooooood” and also because, as a child, I associated it with Kentucky basketball. Pitino sitting on limitless fundsI've also heard the Vatican is looking into sponsorship.
I completely get what you’re saying. And I don’t feel compelled to buy-in for that type of product placement either. But it works or they wouldn’t spend big money on it.I might buy a product because of a good commercial, but not because that commercial was specifically on during a sporting event. Doing what's necessary to compete, isn't the problem. It's the problems that led to this.Has to happen to stay competitive. I highly doubt anyone in BBN will care if we are able to land elite players with the access funds.
Yeap, you can bank on it.Don't worry Glenn, they'll still be begging the already paying customers for more. It will never end.
YMCA?I've also heard the Vatican is looking into sponsorship.
Matt jones said and I agree with, a jersey patch is probably the most expensive thing you could buy for a company regarding UK advertising. I don’t call commonwealth stadium Kroger field and I never will. However, those patches will be seen at every single game from here on out. Point being, it won’t be a mom and pop store, it will be a huge company. I still want Big *** Fans but I think they might have went out of business. lol. And I believe they are allowing multiple patches as well, gotta make sure we get the bang for the buck. Thank God Mitch isn’t involved anymore. I could see him paying them to put a patch on our jersey. lol.Whoever it is whichever company, it is better be a big one to put a lot of money to NIL. Local Mom and Pop is worthless.. in the comments after the article. I’m loser says Louisville slugger.. I don’t think any of us want Louisville on our jersey. Be nice if we had a supporter or alumni their own or sit on the board of a big nationwide company.
Okay, I know where you're coming from. But consider things from an advertising standpoint. Leaving off playoffs and The Ncaa tournament, The 2 football teams play 12 games a season. The Cats play 32. Blue Blood Kentucky is one of the most nationally televised teams in basketball. If I'm buying add space on a uniform, I want the Dale Earnhardt of basketball. Please tell me this was sarcasm.
