to be honest, it's unclear to me if the redistricting will have the effect a lot of us think. If we make the assumption that the numbers are right, voters 27% each for democrats and republicans, and the disapproval ratings for trump and direction of the country, then it's possible independents vote strongly dem, and some republicans, also disenchanted with the country's direction, cross over.Sounds like you're talking about before the Supreme Court gave the greenlight for red states only to eliminate blue leaning districts, though I do think we still win easily but by a smaller margin than we would have otherwise.
somebody should have told Harry Reid when he voided the filibuster over appointment of federal judges. He got the "favor" returned via three supreme court justices. Things in the government seem to work better when members of the parties work better together. The redistricting was engineered by the Radical Right because they know what's coming in November.
What they fail to apparently realize is that somewhere down the road, Dems will return the favor.
Of course, Trump will be dead and cold, so it's someone else's problem.
I don't know about other "failures", but there are a lot more people blaming trump for the higher inflation/prices than denying it. In fact, I do think you have to be a "diehard' supporter to continue denying the Trump role in bothWhat will it take for more sycophants to join him in admitting Trump's failures?
Unfortunately, those "diehard supporters" make of ~35% of voters. Scary.I don't know about other "failures", but there are a lot more people blaming trump for the higher inflation/prices than denying it. Not a Nazito be honest, it's unclear to me if the redistricting will have the effect a lot of us think. Things need to take a decided turn, or democrats need to "step on/in it" for republicans to win IMO. A lot can change between now and November and voters are fickle, so you never know what they think when they go in to the voting booth.
Just one example, in Maine, do voters go with a known(flawed) - Collins - or with the Democrat who now has admitted all his flaws - abuse, Nazi, liar, homophobe (true or not) because they want a direction change in DC. Who knows?
I hear you. I'm just repeating what that dyed in the wool conservative, Sonny hostin, said on the view...although she added, liar, anti semiteNot a Nazi
Not a homophobe
Maine's decision
Mandami is a boy scout with zero scandals or skeletons. Conservatives painted him as an insane person anyway. Are you willing to admit that Republicans lie about who Democrats are no matter how clean they are? If that's the case, couldn't they be lying about Platner right now?I hear you. I'm just repeating what that dyed in the wool conservative, Sonny hostin, said on the view...although she added, liar, anti semite
She's not someone I take seriously, sorry. At this point the Platner bashing has gotten tiresome. He hasn't sexually assaulted anyone, beat anyone and didn't know he was getting a Nazi tattoo according to his fellow Marine who got the same tattoo after a night of drinking. And he has acknowledged his past, apologized for it and vowed to do better, and that's apparently good enough for the citizens of Maine who will ultimately decide.I hear you. "Phil Proschko, who served with Platner in the Marines, dismissed this claim in a brief interview with Zeteo on Friday.
“No, we did not purposely get hateful fvkking sh*t because we’re racist people,” he said. “We got matching tattoos because we were in our 20s, drunk in Croatia, and that’s it. That’s all that ******* happened.”
“We went, we got matching tattoos that we pulled off the wall, or it was out of a book, I don’t remember. We thought it looked cool, something to commemorate what happened, all the people we lost in our unit in Ramadi.”
He noted he served with Platner, and did not live with him after, and would not have firsthand knowledge about how the Senate candidate had described the tattoo to people before running for office: “Whatever he said to somebody else after the fact, I have no ******* clue about,” Proschko said.
Like Platner, Proschko said, “I too have PTSD. It changes your mental process. It’s something that is very difficult to work through, and he is somebody that has gone miles above anybody that’s even tried to better themselves. He’s not a ******* racist, he’s far from it.”
He added, “I don’t want to speak to any more reporters. That was over 20 years ago. We just got matching skull-and-crossbone tattoos that we thought looked cool in Croatia. Whatever happened after that, that’s everybody else’s ******* business.”

Yep, the situation now is entirely self inflicted. The economy had already recovered from Covid by 2024 and then that was handed over to Trump.
Market growth slowed (but hey, all time highs!!), inflation went up, prices keep going up, gas prices went up.
Contrast this market analysis with the narratives from MAGA world on the stock market:
Side-by-Side Market Growth Trend
2024 (Pre–Trump 2nd term) — Peak growth
- S&P 500: ~23%–24% full-year gain
- First half 2024: ~14% gain (S&P)
- Driven by:
- AI boom
- falling inflation / rate optimism
- strong earnings expansion
Takeaway: This was a high-growth, momentum-driven market.
2025 (Trump 2nd term Year 1) — Strong, but slowing
- S&P 500: ~16%–17% full-year gain
- First half 2025: ~5.2% vs 14% in 2024
Growth trend vs 2024:
Drivers of slowdown:
- Still positive
- But materially lower
- Tariff uncertainty and policy risk
- more volatility / corrections
- less aggressive Fed support
2026 YTD (Current environment) — Further deceleration
Additional signs of cooling:
- S&P 500 YTD: ~6%–8% [
- Much slower pace vs prior years
- GDP growth weakening (~1.6% early 2026)
- Higher inflation pressures and policy uncertainty
- Markets shifting from “AI hype / momentum” → fundamentals-driven stock picking

yep, where you sit determines what you see. Back, then folks on the left had not problem with dipping into the strategist reserve and rightists pointed it out. Now rightists see no problem and Democrats point it out.remember how angry Trump and lol the magats on this website were when Biden was dipping into the strategic oil reserves? Now they don’t seem to have a problem with it. Strange.
I recently actually read about this, i honestly, had not cared before. But the worst abuse he’s accused of is from a conservative activist in DC, who dated him. She says he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into a cab once.
shocking.

We knew platner was a nazi and sexual deviant when you far leftists chose him to represent you. The fact that y'all replaced him with a dude who had multiple kids with his cousin is justIs this your attempt at a gotcha? When more things came out about Platner, the Dems kicked him to the curb. I can't say the same thing for y'all's current poster boy, Max Miller. He's accused of beating the crap out of his ex-wife and his daughter, which has been confirmed by a Republican senator (his ex father in law) that it's true. Yet the Republicans are not insisting he drop out of the race, and Trump even calls him a really great guy.
no, my point is that sometimes we should wait until all the facts come out before we go out on a limb....Is this your attempt at a gotcha? But you really didn't just do a "but" what about did you?
Why not address your guy?We knew platner was a nazi and sexual deviant when you far leftists chose him to represent you. The fact that y'all replaced him with a dude who had multiple kids with his cousin is just
These two aren't even in the top 5 of awful democrat candidates for this election cycle somehow![]()
great so now when a poster brings up something the other part did, there's no whataboutism....just the other party is gross....I like this ruleThere is no whataboutism. Platner is out. Max Miller is in. Republicans are gross.
but "why not address your guy"? that sure seems like just a different way of saying "what about" to meWhy not address your guy?

I wasn't talking to you. Scrubbs totally ignored the issues with the GOP candidate while bashing the DEM. There's no whataboutism there.but "why not address your guy"? that sure seems like just a different way of saying "what about" to me

and yet both seem to be on the "High ground" on the issue....interesting in how that seems to work
