Switching from YouTube TV’s Original Plan to a New Sports Plan​

Yes — you can switch from YouTube TV’s original (Base) plan to one of the new sports-focused plans, and you can also leave the original plan if you want to pay only for the sports content you use.

How switching works​

• Plan changes are immediate — once you select a new plan, it starts right away, and your billing date changes to match the new plan’s start date Michael Saves.
• Only the Family Manager (primary account holder) can make plan changes. If you’re not the Family Manager, you’ll need to hand the change over to them Michael Saves.
• You can switch via the YouTube TV website (tv.youtube.com) by signing in, going to Settings → Explore Plans, and selecting the new plan. The mobile app may not show all options Michael Saves.
• Any add-ons you have (like NFL Sunday Ticket) will carry over to your new plan Google Support.

What the new sports plans include​

The Sports Plan is one of the new genre-specific options, costing $64.99/month for existing subscribers and $54.99/month for new subscribers in the first year Android Authority+1. It includes:

• Local affiliates of ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, and The CW
• Major sports networks: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network, SEC Network, Big Ten Network, FS1, FS2, NBA TV, Golf Channel, NFL Network, and more Android Authority+1
• Additional sports streaming via ESPN Unlimited (coming later this fall) Android Authority

You can also pair it with NFL Sunday Ticket Android Authority.

Can you leave the original plan?​

If you switch to a new sports plan, you’ll no longer be paying for the full Base Plan. The new plans are designed so you can pay only for the categories you want (sports, news, entertainment, family) Michael Saves. If you want to keep the original plan, you can still choose it from the list of available plans when switching Google Support.
Tip: If you’re moving from the Base Plan to a sports plan, you’ll get a credit from your old plan to offset the change Michael Saves.
In short — yes, you can switch to a new sports plan and stop paying for the original plan, as long as you follow the Family Manager process and switch via the YouTube TV website.

These $ numbers are not correct. per my look at YTTV, slightly higher.

I mean yeah it cuts out some of the fluff and saves a little bit of money. I’ve considered it myself. But currently just doing the ESPN unlimited bundle since 99% of SEC sporting events can be found through that, and I don’t watch much live TV other than sports. Pair it with an antenna for local channels and I’ve got everything I need, honestly.

I like the ESPN Unlimited/Fox One bundle for $40 per month. It gives me all the sports I’m interested in plus Fox Business, News and a couple of other things. I also have an antenna for locals. Oh yes…..i have Paramount+ and Peacock free through other subscriptions and they include some sports.

So I paid a discounted version for Sunday Ticket earlier this year and looks like I can’t switch to sports plan from basic plan.

Sports is pretty good, I get all major college conference. With streaming going from one channel to another is a negative.
YTTV just raising there fees got out of hand.
Btw, I had Directv forever, fact was I was second person in Mississippi to get Directv starting in 1994. Loved it except bad weather blackouts and raising cost. I use to negotiate fees every year but they stopped giving in so I opted out.
