I put the dark chocolate Cacao (table spoons worth) into my coffee every morning. Been doing it for about a year now.

Hmmm,

I’ve been using coconut powder and milk powder. (Both pure brands). I never even thought of using the cacao in my coffee… I will try that, thanks… May not though till we get back from our travel…

Hello All,

At the DC VA in the parking garage. I have some sort of nerve test. I am early but walking in shortly. The doctor is from Walter Reed and is doing this…. The guy must be special or bad as he answers his own phone calls…Is a neurosurgeon though… We shall see, in any event, I am thankful….

I will try mowing my daughter’s grass when I get back today as we plan on leaving early in the morning for Newberry FL….

Good morning folks. Crazy busy today but wanted to check in. Hot and clear in the east.

Work is that awful combination of tedious and nearly overwhelming right now, but some better days are within sight. My wife keeps nagging me to retire and my excuses not to do that sound weaker and weaker, even to me.

For all you guys who are retired, enjoy your freedom and bait a hook or take a hike for me.

Talking about retirement, I worked at the uranium enrichment plant west of Paducah long enough to draw a small pension. Some of it was illness from working around the product, but they said the average retiree from there lived 19 months. That is one reason I quit.

They have spent years cleaning up the plant site and are talking about having a major AI site there. Many years ago they four laned Highway 60 from Paducah to the plant to make it safer to haul product to and from the site. They said the plant used more electricity than the city of St Louis. I used to see it raining at one of the switch yards in the plant and nowhere else in the plant. I guess all the electricity in a small space caused it. Also used up to 22 million gallons of water a day from the Ohio River at times.

Worked on highway 60 back 1972, built some bridges for Dawson Bridge company on I-24, can’t remember the name of the small town I rented a trailer. Just thought of it, Grahamville, ever heard of it?

Grahamville is very near the plant. At one point later, they ran water lines all the way from Paducah because they were worried about local water supplies. They also advised locals not to eat local fish or animals.

I'm back,

Heading out to my garage to get the car ready and do some other work. No mowing today. That doctor took me in at about 0930 and finished up his testing about 1155. Just WoW... I was electro-shocked, pinned and needled, Accupunctured, and a few other treatments I do not know the names of but this guy checked me from stem to stern as the saying goes. He stated he knew now what my issues are.... (Won't go into them but not so much life threatening so...) At least we have a way forward.

Told me if anyone suggested surgery to slap them. I have two diffrerent issues that will be treated but not surgically...

I never had a more genuine time with a doctor in my life. I have met some good ones and whether this guy knows his stuff or not, I enjoyed being around him. (Dr. Li) I am thankful...

Having trouble sleeping since wife passed. Met with financial advisor yesterday. Great info. May open a small flex annuity. Dermatology appointment at 11 am today.

Triple digits for the foreseeable future here. As high as 107° here for the weekend.

Normal Wednesday. Grocery shopping after morning walk and workout.

Reds win again. Opposition of late has been the weaker teams of MLB, but that will change toward the end of the month and the beginning of next month. They need to take most of these series and probably need to sweep a few to even take a wild card slot.

You folks attack the hill and knock it out today.

Good morning folks. Started out rainy and muggy in DC today. I went for my morning run anyway and it was pretty miserable.

Back in the office. These are busy times. Talked with my son last night. He's up on the Montana-Idaho border battling a significant wildfire. They are out ahead of it trying to create a break ahead of the burning. He spent yesterday using what sounded like a flame thrower burning a path...He's still excited to be there.

Had a good, fun day but too long with a bunch of stops. In Newberry now but heading to St. Augustine beach tomorrow…. We shall see… my grandbabies were having a blast tonight. They are just in bed as well… I had a bunch of squishies hid to give them and had it planned with my nine year old grand daughter. Five grand babies had 84, yes 84 squishies to divide up…

A little break from HOT with kind of hot today as it is supposed to be in the high 90's with triple digits starting back in tomorrow.

Reds win again (hard fought with the A's so...). Reds are 5-1 in series wins since the break. Can sweep today. Game at 11:40 CT.

I have 2 co-ed games tonight in Chickasha OK. starting at 8pm. Standing at 12-2 right now with a chance to end it at 14-2 as tonight is the last games of the summer season.

Monster walk with a light workout this morning since I have games tonight.

Good morning folks. Working from home today.

Sunny and warm in the east, but not unpleasant - at least yet. We actually haven't had a brutal summer yet. There have been many worse during my time in DC.

Trying to stay up on Kentucky's efforts to add one more basketball player. I'd like the Michigan State kid Kohler to come aboard but doubt that happens - it seems to me he and Izzo are just playing chicken over a boost to his pay and he'll stay there. I'd be interested in Missouri's Mitchell if he could fit in to Pope's offense. He single handedly beat some better SEC level teams last year. I always hated to see him on the court against the Cats. The Auburn kid Hall seems like a high risk option to me. If it panned out he would add a scoring dimension the team doesn't have. Or he could wreck the balance of a team that needs to play outside in most of the time. I guess we'll see. Maybe none of the above...

Last night the Cards had a rain delay. Card radio often has rain delay theater during delays. Last night it was replaying an old Mike Shannon interview with Bob Gibson and Joe Torre. Some great stories. Bob said someone was complaining he threw at them. Bob told him he did not throw at him because if he threw at someone he hit them.

Morning D_Leaguers!

Won both games last night and ended the season in Chickasha at 14-2. Started the season 2-0 then lost 2 the next week (bad night) and have since then never looked back. Played the teams again that had beat us earlier in the season and beat them the next time around rather handily. Got back home at around 11:15 and took a while to get to sleep after cleaning up. But a shot of scotch helped later on.

Did not realize there was an NFL preseason game last night (Hall of Fame game). Panthers vs Cardinals. Would not have watched it anyway. Only watch Bengals pre-season games and normally just the first quarter.

Will modify (shorten) workout this morning, clean house and then couch potato naps.

I am sure thankful though, had and having serious fun watching Papa’s Babies….enjoy themselves. Been beating them up as I get the chance. They love Papa beating them up…

Had some bad tide/ currents yesterday so the swimming got cut short but they had a day and a half of good ocean water so…..

Evening to everybody. Quiet day here. I always seem to rise to the level of those in the house. If they are taking it easy I cruise way too much even when there is work to do. But today they all went to the 127 mile yard sale so I got the chance to clean and do laundry plus boxed up some extra stuff. Tedious work but it needed to get done. Another hot day today so stayed in mostly.

Fall is just around the corner (hopefully)

Not slighting you brother ATXC, traffic be bad but DC and the surrounding areas are so very stupid to drive in, Seems NO ONE will accept being second. They will cut you off for one space while doing 60 knowing there are 100 cars ahead of them and there is no chancer to go further. Just dumb dumb driving... I do agree, they are mad.... So many wrecks for nothing....

My son took the kids to his community swimming pool. My Darling and I took the time for me to watch My Darling clean and clean and I did give his house a good "Bug Man" treatment.. Brought my own sprayer and some of the good stuff... The ants be stupid bad here... They will need another hit in a week but I will leave him my good spray but not my sprayer.... (He has a cheap one he can use...)

Good morning folks.

Taking it easy after a 4-mile run this morning.

Went out to dinner at a fancy steakhouse in DC with my daughter's fiancee's parents. They were a nice couple, and we all got along. He was a producer for CBS sports and later CBS news for decades. Attended most of the Super Bowls, World Series, and so on until he retired about seven years ago -- more or less forced out as he admitted, by downsizing. But until then he got to be at a lot of interesting events. His wife also worked at CBS, then, left her job to have kids.

I was driving so stayed sober while everyone else -- the other couple, my wife, their son my daughter -- got a little blitzed. I didn't mind that at all, but you notice how quickly people get way too animated. That's not a criticism. We all had a great time.

Hope it is a restful Sunday for all of you.
