Made me laughYes, there are a lot of role models on this board.
I know zero peopleLooks like you don't know too many people at JPMorgan Chase or their business.
Anyone who can think analytically and critically regardless of their major is employable. Employers want people who can solve problems in their organization.
One would imagine, Many of the Albright Colleges re not long for this world. That is unfortunate. My Alma Mater (BSCJ), Albright, is close to going belly up. Stinks, because their adult program really helped a lot of people like myself start second careers.
BTW, Always remember, those bands you love, the ones where the kids are living communally, they do it because they either love the lifestyle or where it helps them get to In life. They re Risk takers. It’s not easy pulling off a tour, paying for or finding ( most of the time ) lodging when you are already paying for your small piece of carpet back home, let alone food and the exorbitant price of gas.Made me laugh
Okay, I’ll stop posting about how much I admire your chops as a parent.Made me laugh
My son is 13, but I’ve rocked a “Harvard Dad” bumper sticker for at least 10 years. All about curating my image in MontCo.They already do that. Just when they wear their Vassar or Harvard sweatshirts they can act somewhat legitimate.
Here's my guess...I don’t have the imagination to know where things are going to go from here.
This is why hiring is so difficult. You sit in front of them in an interview process trying to determine how this person is gonna behave in the workplace both professionally and personally. What is the demand for people who can cause the problems that need to be solved?

F&M used to be the quintessential “pre” school. Pre med especially and pre law. Was known as a very competitive knives out place for pre med back in 70’s but almost guaranteed acceptance med school if you made it through.my bro and sis are f&m alums. im very interested how they move forward
i sold 2s m35x (they dont need 2 cars in philly) last week to a 19yo kid and his girlfriend. they looked 12, they both called me sir and Mr Rick. after a test drive, we agreed on $5800. he said "ive saved $3200, if i sell my truck in the next few weeks i should have enough. went home told moms how cute respectful and hard working they were. i had a mind to just give it to them. called him and said ill take 5k.BTW, Always remember, those bands you love, the ones where the kids are living communally, they do it because they either love the lifestyle or where it helps them get to In life. Those folks that spend every dime on recording and touring not only love themselves, they appreciate you. Be generous, be very generous when your paths cross or you go see a show.
Tgar is going to go off script here for a moment. I can’t tell you how many times I have picked up a meal for a group of folks or lodging or watched their dogs while they were on stage or held down the merch booth for free or picked up endless rounds of IPAs etc.
AI and the people that brought you AI are squeezing the margins of these folks existence. Maybe not deliberately but it is happening.
Support Live Music. I know you do, it’s many others that don't think twice about not showing some love.
Rant over.

This is what I tell kids in even my AP classes. Each kid is different and the accumulating of 200K of debt for any degree, even STEM may not be worth it for them. Two examples:

One of my smartest Calc kids never went to college. About 12 years ago he got a 5 on the AP exam and won our schools math student of the year but he didnt want to go to college. He was already working at a car dealership doing detailing and on the lot moving vehicles. He wanted to eventually own a dealership so he just wanted to work his way up. Did some work in the maintenance department filing tickets and selling tires, moved his way to the used car lot and the owner loved him, now he's one of those 'managers' that the sales guy always has to go 'talk' to about your offer. Gave me a good deal on our van and he's doing pretty damn well for himself at 30.
Another kid was not the best math student but liked working on cars/tractors/etc. Did the HS vo-tech stuff to get their diesel certification. Worked part time as a HS senior at a john deere type maintenance shop so he had some experience. He graduates HS, has no debt, immediately got a job working at a diesel garage working a standard 8-4:30, with benefits. I think he said it was $20/hr to start during his first 90 day probation period, but he also could work OT every weekend. He said he also gets discounts on parts for his own stuff, free lunch Fridays and in winter when most of the construction companies/farmers get their fleets completely serviced, he would also get mileage reimbursement for driving to their facility. This kids a bit younger but no debt and able to stay with his folks for a few years, he was able to save most of his $

The ROI on most degrees really kicks into gear years down the line … like starting at 10 and then really going at 15-20 years. That’s simplifying it, of course (sole start paying for themselves very early, some not at all, etc.) … but that’s often the case. You pay the loans off, then you start getting the higher promotions to the bigger bucks.
while waiting for the m2 (the order took forever) 2 and i swapped my TT for his GTI. Some kid bought the GTI right after we swapped, moms put up with sharing her car about 2 weeks so i bought the 06 m35x beater for 10k, when my m2 got delivered 2 sold the TT while it still retaining some value and i gave him the 35. when he and his fiance moved in together they no longer needed 2 cars in the city so i gave him 5k and sold if for him. They haven’t made the m35x since 2010 … you selling antiques?

lol, the boy just texted me this thank youI'm going to be honest ... this is literally the first time this has ever happened to me in my illustrious posting career. I got about 10 words into that and decided I didn't want to read the rest.
I've read so much horrible stuff ... whether it's hateful, whether it's just jumbled and confusing, whether I don't really care that much or at all about what's being written, whether it's long-winded and self-indulgent ... I still trudge through it. But, here, I just tapped out.

So, will anyone go to college in 10 years? We don’t have to get sucked into the laka-self-indulgence-death-spiral.everything is ok. Like I tell 1 n 2, you won’t like everyone you meet and that’s ok
