Ok, I was wondering if the team MGore was talking about was 1996 or if both them and 1966 squad played Ragsdale in the final and beat them badly. I put that 1996 team as the best/most dominant NC high school team I have personally watched on the field. They rolled into Canton and “knew” how good they were. Blanked us 30-0 and then went to Brevard the next week and I remember it being a big deal that Brevard actually put up 18 points on them.

They were chanting the “Whose house? Red’s house! “ the moment they got off the bus.

That chant is still a staple chant by our teams and fans!

Yeah, I was referring to the Hickory 1996 state championship team.
