Have you never seen those robotic bar tenders?
I looked at teaching elementary school after I retired and it was absurd. I have a Masters already albeit not in education and I would have to go back to school for like 2-3 years plus a ton of tuition money and this was just at some local college. All to get their "teachers certificate".Agree fully with your assessment of the careers you mentioned.
lol, i see your pro and raise you one of 10 thousand broke asss mini pros struggling every dayI bet this art school student is worth more.

Yeah a bunch of rich people propping it up. The schools on the margin will be the ones rich kids don't want to go to and they are not a great value for the money and or have anything particularly distinctive about it.Poo
Vassar’s endowment is about $1.2bn with an enrollment of fewer than 3,000. Penn State’s endowment is about $4.2bn with an enrollment of more than 10x that. I think Vassar will be fine given its constituents.

Maybe some of these rich Vassar people can start donating toward PSU hoops NIL? Kraft needs to become friends with them.Poo

i cant cause he didnt go to college. for every successful artist there are 10 million art majors living in mom's basement paying off 100k school loans by slinging coffee at the local coffee shopImagine a world where John Dwyer is an accountant.
And they're still going to be living at home with mommy and daddy. We're doomed!I told my sons you have to study a major that translate into a career (or pay for it yourself)
If you want to do art, do it when you get home from work.
That's why I tell kids going to music school to supplement their studies with something else, like teaching.i cant cause he didnt go to college. for every successful artist there are 10 million art majors living in mom's basement paying off 100k school loans by slinging coffee at the local coffee shop

so dont go to college, get in that pit like john did. making art at 45 yo and working a food service job is no way to liveThat's why I tell kids going to music school to supplement their studies with something else, like teaching.
Just remember. If none of those millions of kids take a chance on their passion, we live in a world with no (or bad) art and music. Not a world I care to live in.

The government has become so heavy handed that a lot of professions require a masters degree when IMO that isn't necessary. Elementary school teachers are a prime example. Physical therapists are required to have a doctor of physical therapy degree.
Too many people run up a lot of debt to get degrees in things like Culinary Arts, Fashion Design, Theater, Art History, and Music. I don't think it's right to tell people they can't major in such things but I also thing the government should refuse to give loans to people majoring in things that don't have a ROI.
Invest in making the right connections and friends. That is true for any industry. It only takes one billionaire idiot to pay millions of dollars for a banana taped to a wall.so dont go to college, get in that pit like john did. making art at 45 yo and working a food service job is no way to live
and im on the teaching racket front lines and cant think of worse advice to give a kid

JP Morgan has an incredibly diverse amount of job opportunities. And many successful "financial professionals" weren't biz majors (or STEM), but got their foot in the door by being bright, or connected, with a liberal arts degree. Outside of heavy quant work, or other areas where you need certain certifications you can only obtain through completing certain schooling, you don't need to be "business educated" to be successful in the world of business. It's a world of bullspitting and schmoozing ... again, outside of the world of quants.go to jp morgan as a junior lib major and ask for a summer internship let me know how you make out lol
every one of your rich friends have masters degrees amirite

one of my kids is a rising star at major NYC Ad agency with a political science degree, def not connected but very bright and able. and the 1.2 billion endowmentVassar is known to be a style over substance university.
Actually have a family friend whose kid went there for sports ... he was a smart kid, but not elite (not your typically admitted unconnected elite intellect at an Ivy or equivalent). The family is well off, but not generationally wealthy. The kid's initial report back was that it was filled with idiot rich kids who just wanted to get high/drunk all the time.
My guess is Vassar survives any educational purge because status-seekers want a place to park their undeserving children.
and the 1.2 billion endowment
First, I'm using teaching as one example of a supplement that can pair well with music. Don't take it so literal. It could be marketing, maybe some business classes.so dont go to college, get in that pit like john did. making art at 45 yo and working a food service job is no way to live

Since the trad wives are living the life they signed up for, why wouldn’t they be happy?Trad wives. Are they happy? Hmmmm
aaaaannnnddd living in your moms basement. The huge disconnect here is bands and food servers both work weekend nights. Of course someone heading at warp speed into moms basement with a stupid degree never think of these thingsFirst, I'm using teaching as one example of a supplement that can pair well with music. Second, I'm not suggesting being a full time teacher. If you are trying to be a full time musician, any supplemental income is helpful. Part time music teacher at an elementary school, community college, adjunct guitar prof at a university.
I guess I consume too much feminist contentSince the trad wives are living the life they signed up for, why wouldn’t they be happy?
