3 rate hikes expected this year due to inflation

Market is now implying 1 .25 point rate increase before the end of the year. I don't think they even get that to be honest. Market is split on whether there will be a raise at the september meeting and I think the last inflation print allows them to not raise rates, it was that good.

The sad part is OP will genuinely be upset if there is no rate hike because he would rather be mad at trump than see the US succeed. Because he is an America last loser..

You can hear it already. "Warsh is a Trump crony blah blah blah".

The reality is, outside of oil, the economy is doing pretty well. Oil is the biggest factor in everything right now.

Counterintuitively, rates need to come down in order to bring housing prices down. It makes the money cheaper and so many people are locked into low rates from covid, so no housing supply on the market.

IF, and that's a big IF, oil stays below ~$75 a barrel, you will see the headlines change to rate cuts rather quickly. But it all depends on oil. I believe that Iran knows that and that is the one weakness they are trying to get to. However, they are quickly finding out that is not going to work. They will be overwhelmed.

Can you find any legit source that says "if the rates come down, housing prices will come down?".

Because 1) common sense and 2) all experts I see say..... rates drop lead to cheaper money. Cheaper money, more people will refi and yes, some will take the opportunity to move. When more people are in the market, there is more demand. More demand leads to competetion and higher prices. conversely, demand stays low or falls, then the prices will drop. Econ101 esp with housing being a scarce market. Now, more money may allow more building, but that takes years to catch up and the housing being built doesn't really address the segment of the market that is hurting.
Currently, list prices are down for the exact reasoning above.

Maybe I should correct myself. It won't bring prices down, but will help slow the increase in prices.

Essentially post covid buyers locked into ridiculously low rates. As the gap between their rate and the market rate widens, the less likely they are to put their house on the market and increase supply.

Well done Trump supporters...

For everyone keeping score, there is now only a 40% chance of 1 rate hike this year.

BOA adding to their already ****** reputation. Some of us sniffed that bullshvt out.

So you are crowing about stay or only 1 raise? Instead of what Trump has been scream for and what many people need, which is a reduction? Okay.
You may get a reduction.

I'm crowing because when this thread started claiming 3 rate hikes coming and immediately called bullshvt on it at the time. And i happened to be right despite all the insults and names that were thrown at me by the low iq folks.

Once again, trump's policies are tanking the economy, that is the reason folks are revising down the prediction on the rates. And you are crowing.

Just because you say the same thing in multiple threads doesn't mean its good.

This is Trump's MO. Arrive, see things are okay, declare to make it better (with no details or plan on how to do so). Screw it up, then cry about external forces. Declare victory and walk off leaving the majority worse than they were before.

Trump wanted the rates lower, so he is a self fulfilling prophecy.

How we looking now?

Well, considering you said "We are about to witness an economic boom like you have never seen before. And I truly believe this."

I'd say that the answer is "not so good" But here you are thinking you are dunking on people. Where is the ECONOMIC boom? What metrics? You had @18 months, but couldn't sit on your hands for 2.

There can be no economic boom as long as Trump perpetuates war, especially in the Middle east. More tariffs won't help either. Just as with Biden, Trump needs to stop his BS and just shut up and get out of the way. If Trump truly wants to do something, let JD save us some tax dollars by cutting out some fraud, and push the House and Senate to cut spending.

Checked the 1st page. 1 person said you were delusional. 1 called you a bit ch. You have been so hurt for 2 months, you couldn't wait to post this as your big win? An economy that seems to be stumbling which is what caused reevaluting predictions?

Talk about a snow flake!

I guess you can add being called a snowflake to your diary of internet things that hurt your feels.

Another low Iq poster from Iowa. Doesn't shock anyone.

Democrats can't stand it that the ECONOMY IS ON FIRE

What specific metric are you using for this claim?

Ill ignore the rest of the post that is incorrect, but what specifically is showing the economy is on fire? Be very clear.

There is no single metric.

You know economics 101 right? Guns and Butter?

So I will ask you a 3rd time, see if you can form a response. You have declared that "the economy is on fire!" I am asking you a very simple question. What metric (or metrics) are you using to make that proclamation?

I know econ101, I am simply asking you to be able to outline what YOU are using to make that proclamation.

Maybe the jobs report wasn’t that bad after all. Those World Cup jobs were never going to be permanent.

NVDA - The largest US company by market cap, returned 25% the last year.

So 1) stock market != economy, but.... that aside
2) are you trying to say that
A) the largest company by market cap, the returns of that company are the metric you want to use?
B) NVDA's stock performance is the metric you want to use?
C) 25% in a single year, what is the number between 0 and 25 that goes from "good" to "booming"?

Im trying to give you some softball pitches but you seem to be missing. Is NVDA the metric?

You 've given fragments and then backed away. Why is this so hard for you express? Make it simple for me, what metric(s)? Just lay it out, your full definition that shows the economy is booming?

Nothing you post will be good enough for @Thefunksouljon . He is just a hater. He can't even give a tip of the cap where it's due.

If Dems run on the economy alone, they will get trounced. Unless they can ditch the stench of the Biden admin but they will need a better leader than AOC to do that. I wouldn't feel good if I were a democrat that's for sure.
