We do this every time. Oh it’s a Big 12, PAC-12, Big 10 team. We should win easily. Then we split every time. Usually winning at home & losing in the road. Either we’re not as good as we think we are or they’re better than we think they are. Probably some of both.
When Arizona was in the Pac12 we won both games. We beat Illinois in a bowl game. We did spilt k state and Arizona state
Those 3 are not like Taylor.

Wut? He ain't Cam at all. And he's definitely not a throw first guy.
you obviously have zero clue the type of player K1 is. He can run absolutely but he’s also got an NFL arm. But you don’t know much about the game or the roster and you definitely don’t understand this offense and how it works.

Also split BYU. Illinois doesn't count. He's got you 3-1. Leach did beat NC State but you know we likely lose that on the road too.

He can run absolutely but he’s also got an NFL arm strength.
Fixed that for you. A number of college QBs have NFL arm strength.

In the last 20 years, we're 11-9 vs non SEC P5/P4 teams. 2-2 vs the Big 10. Lebby is 1-2 with no games vs. Big 10. My point stands. We keep thinking these games are easy wins. They're not.

I am a little more bullish on Kamario Taylor than Goat is though. Inexperience is what will limit him some this year, not the offense. I'd rather have a good QB or WR in a Lebby offense than most coaches we've ever had here.

Of those teams we have played Minn is the least talented. That ASU team we have played last two years would blow out Minn . It’s irrational fear about going there and thinking we are going to get beat. This team if it remains healthy should win by 10 or more.

I don't think Minnesota is an easy win, but I think its winnable.

Minnesota reminds me of how we were outside of 2010, 2014 and 2015 under Mullen. They aren't going to lose to teams they shouldn't. They aren't going to beat the elite teams in their conference. They will split their tossups. We are one of their tossups this year. We had that 13-game bowl streak largely under Mullen. Minnesota has an impressive 8-game bowl winning streak, where their most impressive bowl win was the 2019 Outback Bowl over a pretty decent 9-4 Auburn team, but 4 of their 8 wins are against non-P4 teams in bowl games with under 25k in attendance.

Oh we could definitely win that game. But I’m picking Minnesota. I’d give us about a 35% chance.

I really like this team. I have said before we have a great chance to start out 4-0. Not sure I’m holding back at all. Those that being negative haven’t kept up with our roster and coaching staff.
they just need to go out there and do it. The proof is in the pudding.

Most of those teams weren’t very talented. We haven’t exactly been playing the cream of the crop in these conferences.

I thought we would be a 5 point underdog, which historically has a 36% chance of winning. We're on the exact same page.

Minnesota is 22-23 in the Big over the past five years, would be a disgrace for an SEC team to lose to the Gophers
Does their conference record from the last half decade have any impact on what happens in Minneapolis 5 weeks from now?
Does our conference record from the same time have any impact on what happens 5 weeks from now?
Pretty sure the answer to both questions is- a small impact.

If a team has been terrible for 5 years, it will likely struggle again, because its usually difficult to pull in good talent when you arent good.
But NIL can quickly offset that.

So in the end- what either team has done over the prior 5 years in conference play is barely meaningful when it comes to the game 5 weeks from now.

And which conference each team plays in is meaningless. We play against a team, we dont play against a conference.
I understand the connection you are attempting to make, but it sucks.

Minnesota fans say this is a great chance to beat a SEC team.
They are writing it in as a W
State fans are thinking we should beat a middle of the pack Big 10 team.
I’m going to MN but I just don’t see us winning this game.
Agreed. We may win this game, but it’s far from a “should” win. A road game against a middle of the pack B1G team means that we’re probably gonna be a 5-8 pt underdog going in. We’re gonna quickly find out whether the Arnett effect is real or a pipe dream for this season because our defense will have to take strides for us to win games like this

So to be clear, you’d put $100 down on State at -10 right now?
