On a technical note and using his exact words, does he realize Purdue is in Indiana when he says "go to Indiana"???

I love it and wish there was more of this today. You guys forget, decades ago this was common to call out other schools/rivals. IU is gonna tear them up and use it to fuel more of the fire but those two schools genuinely dislike each other. The kids at Purdue, for every kick off, punt kick, foul shooting etc all chant, IU sucks. absolutely love and won't be stifled

It's why I've zero issues with the PSU stuff our kids were chanting, the Auburn stuff, etc etc.

Only problem is he looks like a literal jackass when IU literally has hardware so fresh it doesn't need polish yet. If he called out Notre Lame it would at least be funny since their last trophy came back when Reagan was president.

oh I don't disagree in addition to the delivery as he sounded meek and twinkish/effeminant

that said, I love this stuff and no different than Princeton having to concrete our canon in place.

The last time IU won a men’s BK national title: 1987
The last time Purdue won a men’s BK national title: never
the past is irrelevant in today's game but if you want to look over the past decade, Purdue is light years ahead of IU in bball. Next Year's squad is being compared to the fab 5 in terms of ability and youth. will be interesting to see how Painter runs that given his penchant for older more experienced squads

not so according to this ( in link below ) and before John Wooden was called the "Wizard of Westwood" he was known as "The Indiana Rubber Man." Given to him during his college playing days ( 1929–1932) at Purdue University for his fearless floor dives and ability to bounce right back up.
1932 Boliermakers
National Champions
Although the Boilermakers lead the Big Ten in titles and by several other measures, only once has the Old Gold and Black finished a season atop the national rankings.
The year was 1932, when the Boilermakers went 17-1.
In those days, the Associated Press didn't rank teams and the first NCAA-sanctioned postseason tournament wasn't held until 1939.
Instead, from 1901 to 1938 a panel of experts called together by the Helms Athletic Foundation voted on the national champion at the conclusion of the basketball season.

And still 1-0 in national titles in favor of Indiana. Oh now while not basketball, football titles for ND and Purdue combined in the last 35 years: 0. IU defending champs.
Bloomington is the sports capital of Indiana. Not south bend and not west Lafayette

but the point I referenced was bball and to that point, you have zero argument. IU is irrelevant in today's market whereas Purdue is considered elite
