Another imported disease from Mexico. Guys, right now if you’re smart you’ll only eat fully cooked hot food. I have multiple Tales Of Horror from Central and South American ag workers crapping in and around human food and livestock feed sources spreading horrible parasitic and bacterial disease. Washing your veggies at home isn’t enough.

Stay away from Taco Bell
It’s not just Taco Bell. Any food truck or fast food place with raw lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Sub shops are going to be the next places incriminated. The Taco Bell cases were just the most easily traced. I guarantee you other places have had cases. What you likely have is multiple field workers with clinical diarrhea crapping in the fields AND/OR recycled sewage being used to irrigate or fertilize vegetable fields. Chipotle has pulled jalapeños.

I’ve always thought we were rolling the dice with produce. I’ve seen up close the guys picking fruits and vegetables in the field. There is no way they give two ships about handwashing. Fecal matter matters!

Plus many vegetable farms buy fertilizer from municipal sewage plants

Are you blaming E. Coli/virus/parasite outbreaks on workers not washing their hands because they look ... bad? Dirty? Look Mexican? What did you see exactly that made you feel like you were rolling the dice? Dirty fingernails? Contaminated irrigation water and the lack of mandated field toilets are definitely sources. Using untreated or undertreated manure is another common source as is not following the harvest interval after use of untreated manure.

No because they get diarrhea too and crap in the fields they’re working in. They don’t even have to be sick to be chronic shedders of cyclospora. Just stop your woke virtue signaling

Are you the same person as the poster I responded to with my request for clarification? How many accounts do you have? If you, like steinek11, can tell who is spreading contaminated produce just by looking at them, you are desperately needed by the govt right now.

I’ll call out woke attacks when I see them regardless of who they were directed towards.

I tell you right now…I REFUSE to eat lettuce that some beaner blew up on!

Amirite Dingle?!
I’ve been at too many professional meetings where cases were presented and traced back to field or processing workers. Bagged lettuce products always scared the hell out of me from the cases I’ve seen. There was another huge bacterial disease outbreak a few years back from a contaminated processing plant.

Don’t those people down south fertilize their produce with human waste?

I’m not sure how much of that happens but I’ve seen where they’ve used waste water for irrigation. Yankton SD applied their sludge on a farm field west of town then the farmer has grown sweet corn on that field🙄

Be a social degenerate, pick your nose, chew your fingernails and have wild sex and your immune system will make cyclospora have explosive diarrhea

Just a warning to my Husker brethren who don’t pay attention to the old folks news outlets.
You posted a bunch about it in another thread though. Maybe the BiG Ten will cancel the season because of this outbreak? Aren’t the Chinese behind this somehow?

Not really. Have you completely ruled out a bio attack by a foreign actor? They caught a Chinese “researcher” smuggling plant disease pathogens in to the country that could have decimated our wheat production. You don’t think Iran would love to disrupt our water or food supplies? We’ve had a couple of new viruses pop up in swine and cattle that are costing producers millions. Gee. Wonder where they came from.

I attribute this partly due to our cleaning habits and products. We in USA are so germ averse that we go to extreme lengths to kill household bacteria.

The more dirt and whatnot a child plays in is beneficial to immune system development. Like I said earlier, pick your nose, chew your fingenails and have an active sex life. Send the kids out to play in the dirt if you need to.

To a point maybe be but cyclospora isn’t that kind of deal. You don’t develop long term immunity to it. There’s also other parasites in dirt that can negatively affect kids long term.
