We'll prob never know how the selection process unfolded but the absence of Shepard, Tash, and Mitchell are peculiar.

Shepard and Tash I can sort of understand.
Phee, Stewie, and A'ja were pretty much guaranteed spots if they wanted them so that filled up a lot of the front court spots already.

I'd be curious on Mitchell. IIRC she didn't go to the Team USA camps this Spring. So I'd assume she turned them down. Because i don't know why Team USA would invite Rae Burrell, amongst others, over Kelsey.

Personally I'd drop Angel for either Shepard or Tash. Phee Stewie and A'ja make sense.

Drop Grey, Rhyne, or Young for Mitchell.

Maybe she wants to focus on her PhD. Not sure why else she wouldn’t be included.

My guess is as long as she can maintain this rate of play (and if she's even interested) she'll be in line for a spot on the '28 Olympic team.

Shepard didn't go through any of the camps or anything before this, which I think pretty much rules someone out.
Probably the same reason Mitchell lsn't on the roster. Although neither did Boston, "injury related" and she's on there. Not sure if she was on the Olympic tryout in 2024?

Sabrina's a bit of a head scratcher as a past Olympian and still in her prime, but I think with CC22 and Paige with Gray and Young there really wasn't a need there. Interesting when Sue Bird was asked about Miles not being on the roster she at least had the good sense to give the same reason why Clark was left off last time, because we all know full well the shite would have hit the fan if she'd have been put on the team.

She was injured. She missed a good chunk to start the season. Probably missed a lot of camp and just opted out.

Actually, no she did not opt out. There was an article where they interviewed Sue Bird who had the final say as GM or whatever her title is with team USA basketball. She said she "personally called Sabrina, to tell her it was no bearing on her as a player". something about fit and needs on the team and balancing youth and veteran players. It was not Sabrina's decision to not be on the team. Personally i'd rather have seen Sabrina then the "point God", lolol...
