Hate to say it but I`m very disappointed in Aliyah Boston, who has been one of my favorite Lady Gamecocks.

Danny you know better unless you have paid no attention. This is not even about any "trans" women trying to play in the NBA. Sophie is standing with Riley Gaines(competed in swimming against "Leah" Thomas at UK and finished behind "her," also started "Gaines for Girls"), Jennifer Sey(founder of XX-XY Athletics), etc. They are about trying to protect the high school(and other) female athletes from getting robbed by boys pretending to be girls, like the track kid in California who won a lot of races against actual girls, also getting hurt like the female college volleyball player who suffered a severe head injury when a male spiked the ball off of her head, etc. Oh and the pretend high school "female" softball player(can`t remember where) that was striking out an extraordinary number of actual girls that were batting against him. All you have to do is do a little research and maybe watch Fox News, as the MSM is probably against protecting young women and girls. The few women who speak out for to protect girls and women get ridiculed, threatened at times(see J.K. Rowling). That`s the left for you, know matter what the issue is. They accuse the other side of hate & bigotry when they are truly the haters and the bigots. You may have missed the white guy holding up a "****" sign outside at the Minnesota-Indiana game Sunday, where of course the other side was peaceful, not hating on anyone. That`s how they roll. The word will be edited out, but is 4 letters, starts with a "C," and is quite derogatory towards women. No signs being critical of "trans" people on the other side, just positive messages for girls & women. Oh and I didn`t "blast" Aliyah - I even said they were probably told not to say anything about the issue. My point is that Sophie seems to be the only player or coach in the whole league that has the courage to do the right thing.

Zero % chance he knows two trans people. The only way anyone actually knows two trans people is if you're a Hollywood mom who makes your kids trans.
I have a family member that is a trans female. She's 25 years old. She has a best friend that is trans. I've known her for about 2 years.

LOL- I'm not reading your political opinions.

Not every player has to give an opinion on the issue or any other issue to satisfy you.

There are ZERO trans players in the WNBA. It's an invented issue.

Danny you obviously didn`t read my entire posts. I never said there are any trans players in the WNBA - you invented that.

You're the 4th or 5th poster who've made that comment to Tree. Im convinced he thinks he has a point, and just tries to wedge it into a thread, regardless of what the post he is responding to is actually saying.

Deep, deep, down, everyone knows the essential truth about this issue, but some people can't own up to it, are afraid to own up to it. That's the bottom-line problem. It bespeaks where political-correctness has carried us.
Precisely. When you hear word salads being stumbled through on this topic, you know that person knows how ridiculous the notion is, but is simply a coward lacking the fortitude to speak their actual beliefs on the subject. When you hear someone utter the words "trans women ARE women" and they believe it, you know that person is mentally ill.

So these chicks don't get paid a huge salary for playing. Their endorsements are important to them. She probably feels the same way Sophie feels, but knows what side her bread is buttered on. On a side note, do you guys remember how hated Sophie was here when she was at Mizzou? I don't believe she ever beat us though.

Athletes are in tough spot, when they agree with us and speak up, we applaud them. When they disagree with us, we tell them to shut up and play. We can't have it both ways.

Which is why I don't really mind Boston's non-response (though I haven't seen it). Sure, from an ideological standpoint, I'd love if it she voiced a position in agreement with my own. But I honestly miss the days when you didn't know or care about an athlete's politics.

The WNBA is ridiculous, for so many reasons. Add empty and meaningless virtue signaling on trans to the list.

The Fever head coach was asked her position on welcoming a trans player to the league. Instead of saying what she was thinking, which is "not in a million years" she said she wasn't educated enough to give smart answer on the science of transgender athletes. She then added "I don't ever believe that exclusion is an answer" and said the issued needs "deeper, more layered conversations."

Ridiculous gobbledegook. What she said is the epitome of meaningless.

They'll never actually come out and take any kind of stand other than mealy mouthed statements like "trans kids deserve to play sports".

It's like celebrities who have only ever been in heterosexual relationships "come out" as bi. They get the street cred for it even though there is nothing to actually back it up.
Free market. It's very simple - if you don't like it, neither follow nor wach nor patronize it.

Start your own league and set your own eligibility criteria.

All good.

This whole "crisis" is being manufactured by the media and the WNBA is too stupid to avoid the trap. A liberal polling organization last year reported that 79% of the US is against "men" playhing in womens sports. That is about as unified as this country is right now about any damn thing. Its a nothing burger that is purely media staged for whatever purpose; drive more wedges, get more clicks or whatever.
Free market. If you want a league of mixed, or one of trans only, or one of born female only, start one. IMO that is the best answer. Everyone of us has the opportunity to vote with our feet, eyes, and dollars.

I believe many of us have encountered trans people in our daily lives - in line at the grocery store, etc. It may be obvious who is, and others may hide it well.

It really is, and I don't say that in a hateful way or with any animosity towards them. I've known probably half a dozen or so and only one made a big deal out of it and was involved in any sort of "activism" about it. A real piece of work, that one. The others are simply trying to get through life as best they can and that lifestyle helps them. I'm a pretty staunch "live and let live", lower-case libertarian guy. I do, however, have a large amount of animosity towards the monsters who take advantage of them and their condition. They're just as sickening to me as those on the flip side who hate them.

Semantically, perhaps. I don't know flat earthers who don't have a handful of screws loose. They fall in the same category for me.

I watch Fox News every day and the only hate I ever see on there is from some of the "Democrats," or Socialsts/Communists they interview on there, which is too many for my taste. Where some of these lunatics come from is beyond me.

It left "political-correctness" long ago and took a hard left turn into severe mental illness.

When that leftist douche rocket got sentenced to 100 years for attacking that ICE facility - I popped open a bottle of bubbly. We need LOTS more of these people in prison, or taken directly to a mental institution, never to interact with real society ever again. These people are not "friends." - They're crazy, insane, communists that hate America. Period.

CNN poll - yesterday - When that communist won the (D) primary in MI the other night, (D) chances of winning that MI seat dropped from 79% probability of winning it all, to just 59% overnight. - America WILL NOT TOLERATE communists in our government. Ever.

A very dark storm is brewing. - Only thing left to do is - "Get it on!!!" - Let's go.

Change your party affiliation to (D) - and you can have it any way you want it. Minute by minute changes on any subject if you wish. (D)'s have no standards other than double standards.

The AMA once classified homosexuallity as a mental disorder that could be treated and for years it was treated with some success. Not allowed anymore. The science hasn't changed as much as the politics. It is an easy call for normal people not affected by mental illness.

Also, there are droves of climpson fans walking around and nobody seems to offer them and mental illness treatments, do they?

True - but we've figured out how to manage them. - Just give them their annual "World's Tallest Midget" trophy from the ACC and they're manageable enough.

One could argue that caused their mental illness to begin with.

We've really gotten tied up when what is obvious to the preponderance of people is being suppressed to please a scant minority. I'm not only talking about people like Cunningham being suppressed, but also people like us. It's absurd. It's bizzaro.
How is Sophie being suppressed? She is one of the most popular players in the WNBA, makes bunches of money thru social media, has her own Youtube channel, all because she was traded to the Fever the same year Caitlyn was drafted. When she was with Phoenix, very few people outside SEC country knew who she was other than she was a dirty player and instigated fights. Now she is hailed as the "Enforcer". How is she being suppressed?

Suppressed? Like having the owner of a team shout at and berate young girls who show up on support of Sophie?
