Yes. She was an All Star in 2023.
My quote was "was she an all star at THIS caliber" before Clark. Not hardly. Borderline, and now she's a starter. Since Clarks arrival Mitchell has had by far the best three year run of her career where NOW she is a top two scorer and some even say a shot at MVP should the Fever win a title. Its way more then obvious the gravity that Clark has provided, has allowed Mitchell the freedom she never had before.

Are you kidding me??? These guys despise trans people. He thinks they’re crazy people. Yeah that’s bigotry. This isn’t a new topic on these boards.
Sorry, I never heard him or anyone else say those words. It appeared to me like you were putting words in his mouth. I'm not reading between the lines.

I’m more upset that a friend empties her savings account, with health insurance, after she gets cancer.
AND, just where or why should that be a topic here. For however much this topic has gone off the rails it DID have something to do with whether biological men should play in women's sports. That's what Sophie commented about, and has been railed at for. It does have some relevance with the Fever. The cost of health care? No more then some of these other political ranglings that get started.

Bc watching the fever with a 7 point lead in the 4th gives me heart attacks and i have to go to the ER and the only reason I’m not $1,000,000 in debt is because of Obamacare.

Fever just don't have the roster to compete with the multiple weapons the Lynx have.
I don’t know about that. Lynx are clearly very good but they were hitting everything and every circus shot by miles went in. Miles is incredible but offensively she played as well as she could. Factor in the home crowd, and I think teams are pretty close to even over a 7-game series.

I was thinking similarly. In a 7 game series I don’t think the Lynx would have a first half like that every game, but also what do I know?

Man I thought spamming the board with Christine Brennan tweets was annoying. At least they were somewhat related to CC.

But these constant posts about what a washed up tennis player thinks are twice as bad.
Funny how her thoughts are now considered out of line? I'm sure she's not "washed up" when you consume her many other opinions - right?

My daughter, if I had one, would be able to hit any pitch over the plate. Period. End of story.

  • Schuyler Bailar — NCAA Division I men's swimming. Assigned female at birth, transitioned to male and swam for Harvard's men's team from 2015–2019. He was the first openly transgender athlete to compete on an NCAA Division I men's team.
  • Iszac HenigNCAA Division I swimming. Henig was an All-American swimmer on Yale's women's team before transitioning and beginning testosterone. He then switched to Yale's men's team for his senior season and competed directly against male swimmers, despite knowing he would rank much lower in the men's division. That's a pretty strange way to go about transitioning if the motivation is supposedly to gain an unfair athletic advantage.
  • Mack Beggs — wrestling. Beggs is a transgender boy who wanted to wrestle against boys in Texas. Texas rules required athletes to compete according to the sex on their birth certificate, so the state forced him to wrestle in the girls' division. He won girls' state championships in 2017 and 2018 while taking prescribed testosterone. His case is particularly relevant because people sometimes cite him as an example of a transgender athlete dominating girls' sports while leaving out the fact that he wanted to wrestle boys.
  • Chris Mosier — men's triathlon/duathlon. Mosier was assigned female at birth, transitioned to male and competed internationally in men's competition. In 2015 he became the first openly transgender man to make a U.S. men's national team.
  • Patricio Manuel — professional men's boxing. Manuel transitioned from female to male and became the first openly transgender man to compete professionally in men's boxing in the United States. He's fought cisgender male professional boxers.

The Mack Beggs case is probably the single best answer to the your question.

Beggs essentially said: I'm a boy and I want to wrestle boys.
Texas said: You were born female, so you have to wrestle girls.
He then won two girls' state championships.
No - she won two state girls championships. Fixed it for you. She can wish she was a boy and pretend to be one. She can be born with masculine qualities and label herself a boy. She can define herself as a boy by altering the accepted definition. Unless her DNA says she is a boy - then she is in actual fact a girl. Of course, by definition only in these crazy days.

I consider Martina and Serena the 2 goats of women's tennis. Martina changed the game with her athleticism. Her fitness regime was like nothing the women's game had ever seen before. And then of course we know what Serena did.

Mentally Ill People
Man thinks he is Jesus and wants to kill the President - Mentally Ill
Man thinks he is possessed by Satan and wants to kill famous people - Mentally Ill
Man thinks he is the Messiah and coordinates the mass suicide of nearly 1,000 people - Mentally Ill
Man hears voices and has been diagnosed with more than a dozen personalities - Mentally Ill
Man thinks he is actually a Woman and demands all of the rights of a woman - Not Mentally Ill (OK) - and if you try arguing this point then you're a bigot! Crazy times we live in. And really, all because one political party has taken a stance that is about an 80/20 issue at worst.

Beggs won 2 girls state championships while taking prescribed testosterone. He definitely had an advantage because of the hormones and he wanted to compete as a boy because of them. Do you think it was fair to the other female wrestlers that lost to him because Texas required him to compete as a girl?

Anti-discrimination laws typically apply to private businesses.
You're right that being a private organization doesn't automatically exempt the WNBA from state laws. But I think you're applying the anti-discrimination argument backwards in this hypothetical.

The laws the Supreme Court just upheld apply to school athletics, not professional leagues. So if the WNBA decided a transgender woman was eligible to play, those existing laws wouldn't prevent her from playing a WNBA game in those states.

A state could try to pass a separate law prohibiting transgender women from professional women's sports, but then the WNBA wouldn't be the party discriminating against the transgender player — it would be the private employer willing to include and employ her. The state would be the party singling her out and preventing her from participating because of her sex/transgender status.

Whether a state could legally justify that distinction in professional sports would be a new constitutional and employment-law question. The Supreme Court's recent ruling about school sports didn't decide it.

Oh, I agree. Martina is a solid Democrat who happens to want to protect the integrity of girls and women's sports.
So does almost every single liberal. That’s the point you guys keep glossing over. I’m left AF and do not believe men should be playing women’s sports. Again, we’re all being distracted, talking about something that affects almost nobody away from rising health care costs that affects all of us.

Serena, Steffi, Martina for me. If Martina hadn’t come along, Evert might have won 25 grand slams.

Let's say you have a very athletic daughter in high school. Would you be upset at all if your daughter's softball team lost in the state championship game to a team with a star trans female pitcher who no one could hit, where your daughter's team lost 6-0?

Yes or no.

And don't go off on some tangent.

Yes or no.

I'm not going to continue with this nonsense. You keep posting stuff that has nothing to do with anything that was being discussed and right into the political nonsense about health care, all the while complaining about people posting about trans men in women's sports. At least that WAS a conversation about a Fever player, and what effect the distraction had on the team. Health care is NOT a topic on this forum. next you'll be going into some rant about ICE, or Trump like that looney on the football forum. Take it elsewhere....
