But Biden had no control over fuel prices, no?MAGA controls the presidency, congress, senate, and the SCOTUS. Why are you talking about Dems?
But Biden had no control over fuel prices, no?MAGA controls the presidency, congress, senate, and the SCOTUS. Why are you talking about Dems?
Yes, and it was created by the explosion of the internet and a republican controlled Congress that didn’t want to help Clinton at all.The only president since 1969 to have a budget surplus was a Democrat.
Biden was “Killing it”.look at this adorable little magat. Admitting to yet another thing that Trump has completely failed at. The list of Trump’s failures is long and growing every day.
Both parties spend money we don't have, but one party keeps advertising itself as fiscally conservative. I don't see liberals on here saying, "fiscal conservative here."just out of curiosity, don't you remember we had Democrat Presidents from 2008 through 2016 and from 2020 through 2024. I might have missed it, but did they submit proposals for balanced budgets??
Polling last year showed almost 60% of Americans approve of the ACA, which I'm sure Scuddy and his Twitter bots will recognize. The SAVE Act doesn't have "80% general support." How is it you MAGAts don't know how words work? "100% of Americans believe you should have a right to air ... why aren't they supporting this 'Right To Air' bill?" "Well, because it requires you to have sex with horses, too." "Oh, so you don't support the right to air?!? You commie."
The guy who allegedly took classes at Harvard thinks the Democrat bench is "week."The democrat bench is so embarrassingly week lol who do you think will be the nominee? The guy who just had CPS called for a wellness check on his home?
You don't understand — you're not a FiScAL CoNsErVaTiVe.We are running a 2 trillion deficit this year, burning billions a week on a ridiculous war, and putting the brakes on the economy with tariffs, and it’s the democrats who are non-existent on fiscal policy?
Good talk Russ.
Examples? Most of the weaponized incompetence I've seen recently has come from the left,.. Don't get me wrong, the right is far from perfect, but you guys,... Wow.
Sounds like you have beef with Newt.and both the house and Senate were controlled by republicans...The parties used to be able to work together...
The guy who allegedly took classes at Harvard thinks the Democrat bench is "week."
You're absolutely correct, and I'm sure Republicans wouldn't be taking credit for budget surpluses today if they had been in the White House during that time.Yes, and it was created by the explosion of the internet and a republican controlled Congress that didn’t want to help Clinton at all.
You think an war and imposing tariffs are fiscally sound policies? Both reasonable and fiscally sound governmental policies,... Democrats are non-existent on both,... Don't short change me.
If there's one thing we know about Scruddy, it's that he's a rational and normal adult with a really big brain. To be fair, he also thinks the reflecting pool guy should face the death penalty and the DOJ and Secret Service are negotiating Obama’s surrender.
If there's one thing we know about Scruddy, it's that he's a rational and normal adult with a really big brain.
I think a point is that republicans have contributed to our fiscal insanity, by so have democrats. Both have gotten us to this point. We are running a 2 trillion deficit this year, burning billions a week on a ridiculous war, and putting the brakes on the economy with tariffs, and it’s the democrats who are non-existent on fiscal policy?
Good talk Russ.
ok, if that's your point, I can't say you're wrong. But both have been spending like drunken sailors. Both parties spend money we don't have, but one party keeps advertising itself as fiscally conservative. I don't see liberals on here saying, "fiscal conservative here."
ah, short memory, why were the Senate Democrats holding up funding during one of the shutdowns...republicans wanted to honor the sunset on ACA subsidies...democrats wanted to keep them intact and there by spend more.
I don't believe that either party has any moral high ground when it comes to deficits and debt. You can talk about degrees and while that's debatable, we've not had a balanced budget since 2000, and we've had both Republican and democrat control since then.
Examples?
I think a point is that republicans have contributed to our fiscal insanity, by so have democrats. Both have gotten us to this point. I'm old enough to remember when there was major concern at less than $3 trillion. We passed the gramm rudman hollings bill in 1985 to reign in the debt. That hasn't worked out as planned. We were under $6 trillion during Clinton...but boy have we exploded since then.We are running a 2 trillion deficit this year, burning billions a week on a ridiculous war, and putting the brakes on the economy with tariffs, and it’s the democrats who are non-existent on fiscal policy?
Good talk Russ.
please explain how the IRA is "weaponized incompetence"? keep in mind, inflation consistently fell after its passageWeaponization?,.. Multiple Dem lawfare roadblocks erected to hamper Trump's path back to the White House at both the State and Federal levels,... Incompetence?,.. Afghanistan withdrawal,.. Attempted student debt cancellation,.. Infrastructure and Jobs Act, (at a time when post covid inflation was about to explode),.. and the Inflation Reduction Act,.. to name a few.
please explain how the IRA is "weaponized incompetence"? keep in mind, inflation consistently fell after its passage
i don't think that, actually. but it is an indisputable fact that inflation consistently fell after its passage (why it fell, just like why it rose, is a lot more complicated than a few bills passed/signed by any president)It's cute that you seem to think that the Inflation Reduction Act was an impetus for reduced inflation,... I suspect you also believe the Affordable Care Act made healthcare more affordable.
(why it fell, just like why it rose, is a lot more complicated than a few bills passed/signed by any president)
so, the part where you explain any of it...that's just not happening? There you go,.. I knew you had it.
Well, let's see. For starters:What has Iran won?
The Infrastructure bill was far from weaponized incompetence as it would have been deficit friendly over time and much of it was being funded by re-purposed existing reserves from unused unemployment insurance and unused COVID aid. And improving roads, bridges, ports, airports and railways would enable businesses to operate more cost-effectively resulting in consumer savings. Trump must agree because he only paused projects in blue states(surprise) and re-branded it to remove Biden's name so he could take credit for the positive impacts.Weaponization?,.. so, the part where you explain any of it...that's just not happening?
the best you have is just naming bills that were signed?
The Infrastructure bill was far from weaponized incompetence as it would have been deficit friendly over time and much of it was being funded by re-purposed existing reserves from unused unemployment insurance and unused COVID aid.
I am fairly confident you don't understand what weaponized incompetence means having read that. It was a single phrase, not two separate accusations.Weaponization?,..
No doofus, money that had already been allocated but was unused. Don't derail the thread so you can be a little b*tch. The point applied to not raising taxes.![]()
I see,.. so unused funds are free money.

The Funding Breakdown
- Unused COVID-19 Relief: The package redirected more than $200 billion in unspent emergency pandemic aid from previous relief bills.
- Unemployment Insurance Savings: The bill clawed back roughly $53 billion from federal unemployment programs. This chunk of savings was generated because 26 states opted to exit the enhanced federal pandemic unemployment benefits early, and the broader job market recovered faster than originally projected.
- Fraud Recovery: The funding plan also counted on revenue generated by recouping fraudulently paid COVID-19 unemployment benefits.

Need to Know: The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill - Plural Policy
The passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act was the culmination of nearly a decade of negotiations over investments in America’s infrastructure. Debates over the bill dominated much of President Biden’s first year in the White House. The debates, negotiations and passage of the Act...pluralpolicy.com

Here, we share the facts and debunk the fallacies about the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
The infrastructure bill makes a record investment in our nation’s infrastructure, but despite its popularity, many still have questions about what is in the legislation.www.uschamber.com
so...just cliches about policies you disagree with. OK.Excessive anti climate change spending in the Inflation Reduction Act hindered downward inflationary trends that were trying to take hold at the time,.. It imposed excessive tax burdens on business,.. Extended limitations on the use of fossil fuels,.. and planted hidden landmines in the Medicare program, which are only recently being exposed.
When the 3T Fed debt servicing this year hits the 1T ai debt, what will the Fed do?I love the people in threads like this serving up "fiscal conservative here," and then offering myriad excuses why they fervently support people who are not in any way fiscally conservative, as though the quip absolves them. It's the same crowd always crowing about "It's not the person, it's the policy I like!" when the person is an awful human.
Blame trans people and immigrants. When the 3T Fed debt servicing this year hits the 1T ai debt, what will the Fed do?
Which party consistently blocks the other party from raising money to attack the national debt?Fiscal conservative here who gave up on the GOP in 2017. We haven’t had a fiscally conservative option in a long time. One may be marginally better than the other, but both parties are atrocious and I hate them all.
More than anyone on the boards Rifler fell for Trump. Changed more than anyone.Lol at one point you presented yourself as a fiscal conservative. Ever since Trump was elected you’ve nose dived into MAGA.
