Biggest criticism of trump 1.0 is the same criticism for trump 2.0. We are spending WAY too much money that we do not have.

I will note that trump has slashed areas of government spending and the left cried about each and every one of the things that was slashed, regardless of how obviously worthless it was to our country. Congress should codify doge cuts, but congress is also entitely worthless and doesn't actually do anything but rubber stamp bloated spending bills and commit insider trading.

Are dems still pushing for complete student loan forgiveness, healthcare for all and welfare for non-citizens? Those policies will triple our national debt in 4 years.

MAGA controls the presidency, congress, senate, and the SCOTUS. Why are you talking about Dems?

Because, at least when it comes to the "DSA" faction of the left, this is like having Adolf Hitler in charge, and objecting to his killing of people, and presenting Mao Zedong as the one who is going to step in and stop the killing.

Also fiscal conservative here,.. Humorous that OP's thread title implies that there is a fiscally responsible political party choice to be made in this country,... Doesn't exist.

If "maga" controlled all of that as you suggest then the SAVE act *which has 80% general support* would have been passed months ago.

If "maga" controlled scotus then birthright citizenship would have been properly ruled on.

You don't exist in reality. I'm sorry that this is all so confusing to you.

DC abandoned fiscal conservatism during the GWB era and has never looked back. It’s awfully lonely having almost no one in DC caring about our debt. I’m especially pissed off at the GOP for pretending they care when getting elected only to abandon the pretense in office. At least the Dems are honest about their intentions.

It’s all so sad and pathetic.

Trump simp pretending to be a fiscal conservative. Adorable.
I love the people in threads like this serving up "fiscal conservative here," and then offering myriad excuses why they fervently support people who are not in any way fiscally conservative, as though the quip absolves them. It's the same crowd always crowing about "It's not the person, it's the policy I like!" when the person is an awful human.

We sure have spent a lot of money to lose a war to Iran.
What has Iran won?

True.

It's possible to support someone and also criticize them when they're wrong. When you're not in a cult, that is.

look at this adorable little magat. Admitting to yet another thing that Trump has completely failed at. The list of Trump’s failures is long and growing every day.

The next president in 2028, likely a Democrat, will break all of trumps debt records and Republicans will again argue that deficits and debt are existential threats just like they do every time a Dem takes office. Trump, as he's always prone to do, took that bull shat to another level by promising to not just reduce the deficit, but to eliminate the entire debt in 8 years. That was before he exploded the deficit and debt during his first 4 years.

nobody cares that is in elected office because the solution won’t get them reelected.
FIFY...

ah, short memory, why were the Senate Democrats holding up funding during one of the shutdowns...republicans wanted to honor the sunset on ACA subsidies...democrats wanted to keep them intact and there by spend more.

I don't believe that either party has any moral high ground when it comes to deficits and debt. You can talk about degrees and while that's debatable, we've not had a balanced budget since 2000, and we've had both Republican and democrat control since then.

"Anti-cannibal here," says the guy who voted for Jeff Dahmer three times and advocates breathlessly for his "policies" on message boards.
just out of curiosity, don't you remember we had Democrat Presidents from 2008 through 2016 and from 2020 through 2024. I might have missed it, but did they submit proposals for balanced budgets??

The SAVE Act doesn't have "80% general support." How is it you MAGAts don't know how words work? "100% of Americans believe you should have a right to air ... why aren't they supporting this 'Right To Air' bill?" "Well, because it requires you to have sex with horses, too." "Oh, so you don't support the right to air?!? You commie."

If "maga" controlled scotus then birthright citizenship would have been properly ruled on.

You guys are such absolute loons, you don't understand just how far off the reservation you've traveled. The anti-birthright citizenship argument was so incredibly awful, even a bought and paid for USSCt couldn't buy it. MAGAts have gotten so used to just saying the first dumb thing that comes to mind as a rationale for their actions, and having someone OK it, that they've started to buy the thought that their craziness makes sense. Even insanity has its limits.

You don't exist in reality. I'm sorry that this is all so confusing to you.

Which cult do you think I belong to?

I know you are in the part of the maga cult that fetches tweets all day and drags them back here to fellate maga.
So no wins for Iran that you can name? So weird..
Don’t worry, the fiscal conservatives will return when the next democrat is elected President. So 1/20/29 or 33 I’m guessing.
The democrat bench is so embarrassingly week lol who do you think will be the nominee? The guy who just had CPS called for a wellness check on his home?

Fiscal conservatives are always around,.. Thing is that most of us want both reasonable and fiscally sound governmental policies,.. Republicans might be weak at this, but Democrats have been non-existent.

We are running a 2 trillion deficit this year, burning billions a week on a ridiculous war, and putting the brakes on the economy with tariffs, and it’s the democrats who are non-existent on fiscal policy?

Good talk Russ.
