A little trivia for you all. When Burns and Crest High Schools opened they used the blue print of Shelby High School's football stadium to build theirs, saving money.

I was on oak island pier fishing around midnight. The pier closes at night but u can still fish and guy opens in the morning comes out and collects your payment. ( So just leave before he gets there ) Back to story some guys were out there chumming the water trying to shark fish and they told me they do it every weekend 
. I sit there fishing and thinking I feel sorry for whoever swims there the next day

I miss the prayer team
I wish they were still around at new stadium. Sometimes I wonder if on Friday night they just go to the old stadium instead. I would love to have their vigor and passion show up at new stadium. Times have changed and people mellow out including me some . I remember years back a mom at East Burke coming over and cursing me out over her son on the field and then calling her husband trying to get him to come find us . Hey #3 Stormsurge1 said:

I suppose people have their reasons for fishing for something as dangerous and vicious as a shark; maybe you can eat them I donāt know, but I do believe they can eat peopleā¦Guys, hate to say this, but given my lineage, if a shark were to ingest a teaspoonful of my blood it would dissolve it entrails, and probably pollute a segment of the ocean the size of Greenland.

I remember going to bathroom as a kid at Newton or Maiden, you'd see airplane bottles everywhere

Saw where Hendersonville is ranked #9 in area code 803. Last year we beat them by a single point. This would be a really tough playoff draw for usā¦Course, I shouldnāt be worried about who we might get in the playoffs. Five years ago my concern was whether or not we would even make the playoffs.
Interesting because I keep reading how the 4A East is so much deeper and more talented than the West. I guess HSOT disagrees.
I get that feeling. Cramer was 2-18 in 2023/2024. In 2023 they had one of the worst statistical seasons in NC history. A total culture change and that seems like a really really long time ago.

Just dawned on me that we have to play 3 of the top 5 teams in 4A.
All of a sudden Iām feeling tired.
Not bad, Maiden is at #5 very strong tradition of football there, I was born & raised in Hickory and graduated from Hickory High, but my mom side of the family is from Maiden, I grew up going to church in Maiden. I remember watching Maiden play at the old high school on them cold Friday nights, Tom Brown days, my mom played basketball at Maiden, my uncle played on the 79 state championship team, Shannon Wingate Jr is my cousin, he is my uncle son, shout out to Maiden and Coach Byrne he is a really great guy.

I was over at Shelby Saturday for picture day and the field was perfect and very green . With the new scoreboard and new field house in back ground the stadium is really looking good and throw in all the history of the big games that have been played there. On a side note how does he have Burns on the worst list and not Crest when the have the exact same stadium?
He is an idiot. He put you guys on there for the brick section for season ticket holders. He said he didn't like it. He put us on there for personal reasons which to me only says he came to see a win and left unhappy. He has not even been there since we have upgraded the scoreboard and press box. Some he had on the worst list, have amazing atmosphere and culture.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I have been to way more football games at Crest than Burns but after basketball season last year I realized very quickly that the schools are laid out the same way. That was the first time I had been to a basketball game at Burns, and was like ok I get it now, this is the exact same as Crest.

He didnāt have you guys listed on the 4A teams to watch in the West. There has to be personal grudge. I pointed it out and he never addressed it. I think I even asked the question of how do you have Mount Pleasant (no offense to that program because I think they get all they can out of what they are working with) over Burns. Crazy talk
That stuff doesn't bother me. Burns still has to prove themselves. We have two very tough games to start with so we will see what happens. Anyone in Lawndale knows you better get us early if you are going to. This team come playoff time will be special if it even takes that long. The results on the field will sort itself out. I have seen us unranked, beat a few teams and all of a sudden were in the top 5 and talked about like they had us there the whole time. lol The way I see it, if our QB play is good early on then we can make noise early. There are still some moving parts in that area so we will see but I have heard really good things.

A ton returning but breaking in a new QB. We had 7 seniors last year and 26 this year. Our top 4 in the conference will be an absolute 3 game war for all of us.
Couldn't agree more. I don't think we have that many seniors though. lol The great thing is all 4 classes this year have a ton of talent. This next 4 year run can be special. This is the photo put on here of the midnight mass over at Hibriten. These are not spectators, theyāre all football players who transferred across town and are there for orientation into the football program... Bus drivers? I think youāre right.I see hibriten needs some bus drivers

AMD, no disrespect to your devils in the Max Preps Preseason Poll for 4A. Maiden is 4, only behind Brevard who is 3 in the West. Burns is 5. Hibriten is 8. Bandys is 10. Cramer is 12. NC is 13. West Iredell is 17.
