I’m a rock and metal guy at heart, but I can’t emphasize enough how much I hate that Five Finger Death Punch is considered one of the faces of the genre. Generic riffs, idiotic lyrics that sometimes seem like random collections of profanities more than a coherent thought, terrible fake tough guy image, etc. I’ll take overplayed classics any day over that trash.

“Waterfalls” by TLC is the worst song ever made.

“Fancy” by Reba is a close second….like wtf possessed you to write a song like that….and people liked it!
"Fancy" is originally Bobbie Gentry. Reba just covered it.

I love Led Zeppelin but Black Dog sends me running for the hills.

I think at one time I liked the song well enough but it wore out fast and hard for me and by the time I could drive it was banned from being played in my car.

I normally don’t like to hate on things for being “cringe.” Honestly though, FFDP is pretty much the poster child for the word. I cannot imagine listening to them and thinking it is good music. And I’ve yet to meet a fan of them who was a person worth knowing. Just being honest. Their fans are the cheesiest machismo type of guys that smell like menthols and dried sweat. Yuck!

I’m also a metal and rock guy.

May I introduce you to "We Built This City" by Jefferson Starship, "Little Bitty" by Alan Jackson, "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas? Of course there are countless terrible songs made this decade, but I am too old to listen to that shite.

Not a song I would ever listen to a station that would play it but 1 question. Do I want to go on a cruise? Answer: if it isn't a music specific cruise then the answer is absolutely not. I've been on one cruise in my life and after hearing Single Ladies by Beyonce for the 900th time in 4 days, I was ready to jump the rail and take my chances with the sharks.

When I hear the creepy annoying “whopper whopper whopper have it your way” I can’t find the mute button quick enough.

I can’t believe some of the bands and songs that people mention would make them turn the dial. I’m 63 and I still can’t believe what you are saying. You all must be about 22 or so.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of anyone not liking Ann Wilson’s voice.

So whose voice do you like?
I'm not a fan of rock songs fronted by women. Same reason I don't like listening to female sports announcers. It's a personal preference.

I’m detecting a common theme in your posts:

General rule with a few exceptions and sorry if it sounds sexist, but if a lot of women like it--it's likely not that good.

It appears your issue is just women. Anything they do or like ain’t for you.

So basically what we’ve established is that you don’t like what women do and you don’t like what women like.
Thats quite a reach. Take a poll on this board of who likes female sports announcers.

Also, I said "rock". I enjoy classic Aretha Franklin and Motown leading ladies, Norah Jones etc.

Triggered much?

I remember as a teen being at a ice cream social/fish fry held in conjunction with a local church and they were blasting Fancy. Felt like I was the only one there that knew what that song was about.

1. Most country made after 1995 - genre feels manufactured and has for a long time
2. Most rap made after 2008 - beats got worse, so did flow style
3. I will catch hell for this, but Led Zeppelin does nothing for me.
4. The Beetles - see above
5. Radiohead - singer’s whiny voice irritates me to no end
6. Dave Matthews Band - frat boy music that all sounds the same

I should note that my tastes are not in the mainstream. Metal is the love of my life, 90s gangsta rap is my side piece, and I have flings all over town with grunge, punk, ska and old school country.

I can get behind most of this list.
1) There are very few country songs in the last 30 years that don't sound like industry manufactured crap. The more independent, self promoted folk country artists occasionally produce a 10/10 bleed out song though.
2) Completely agree on rap once it hit the 2010's or so. Outside of freaks and tremendously talented one ofs like Ren.
3) I respect Led Zeppelin, I just don't enjoy them enough to want to listen to them constantly, same with Pink Floyd.
4) The Beatles here as well. However I do have a crazy love for well done re-imagined Beatles cover songs.
5) I would swap Radiohead here personally for Green Day. While I'm not a huge Radiohead fan, I won't change the station over them, but Billy Joe Armstrong's voice is nails on a chalkboard to me. And I never really enjoyed Industry Sellout Punk Bands. (Nobody touch my 2000's Pop Punk though dangit, she's my dirty little secret side piece). lol
6) I lump Dave Mathews in with John Maer, Jason Mraz, and that whole weird seashell necklace, trying way too hard with an acoustic guitar, frat slop from the mid 90's to late 2000's together. I just can't with it.
7) My add to your list is Nickelback... God! Please! No!

My main love is 90's grunge, followed closely by a healthy diet of 80's rock, 80's metal, and late 80's early 90's rap. Sprinkled in with 2000's pop punk and select emo songs that were just catchy enough to create core memories. lol My playlist is all over the place and severely bi-polar.

Oh I will add: I don’t think there’s a single Journey song that I like. I find them unrelatable and corny.
I always liked Journey. Then I heard someone complain about how corny their lyrics were, and now it's completely ruined it for me. It's weird because I always pay attention to lyrics, but somehow I missed how corny some of their songs were.
