I would think that most parents would be, thinking that it gave them an unfair advantage. That is why the vast majority of people in the country on both the right and the left are fundamentally opposed to transgender females competing in women's sports.

The Court did not rule that states are prohibited from allowing transgender girls from participation. Like the Dobbs case overturning the right to an abortion, the majority ruled that transgender rights to participation is a state issue.

Accordingly, individual states have final authority to decide transgender rights in sport activities.

So, I would pass along the same advice conservatives offered after the Dobbs decision. If it is that upsetting an issue to someone - move. Move to a state which bans transgender athletes. More than half the states have now enacted bans…. It shouldn’t be hard to find one.

If the issue is "transgenders" why is it always a one way street? Maybe I haven't been paying attention but I can't remember a female transgendering to be a male and asking to play in mens sports. Why is this? Maybe because it isn't about the individual just wanting to identify as the other gender as much as it is about gaining an unfair advantage? Huh?

So private organizations don't follow under state laws. And yet with a few of the leagues own coaches apparently okay with trans players in their league, (as per their own statements), the forum here generally agrees this is not an issue going forward? Is that the opinion? It may not be a problem now but its certainly something worth keeping an eye on. We all ready know the leagues track record of keeping in front of potential issues before stuff gets out of hand. The last three years have shown us that......

• Schuyler Bailar — NCAA Division I men's swimming. Assigned female at birth, transitioned to male and swam for Harvard's men's team from 2015–2019. He was the first openly transgender athlete to compete on an NCAA Division I men's team.
• Iszac Henig — NCAA Division I swimming. Henig was an All-American swimmer on Yale's women's team before transitioning and beginning testosterone. He then switched to Yale's men's team for his senior season and competed directly against male swimmers, despite knowing he would rank much lower in the men's division. That's a pretty strange way to go about transitioning if the motivation is supposedly to gain an unfair athletic advantage.
• Mack Beggs — wrestling. Beggs is a transgender boy who wanted to wrestle against boys in Texas. Texas rules required athletes to compete according to the sex on their birth certificate, so the state forced him to wrestle in the girls' division. He won girls' state championships in 2017 and 2018 while taking prescribed testosterone. His case is particularly relevant because people sometimes cite him as an example of a transgender athlete dominating girls' sports while leaving out the fact that he wanted to wrestle boys.
• Chris Mosier — men's triathlon/duathlon. Mosier was assigned female at birth, transitioned to male and competed internationally in men's competition. In 2015 he became the first openly transgender man to make a U.S. men's national team.
• Patricio Manuel — professional men's boxing. Manuel transitioned from female to male and became the first openly transgender man to compete professionally in men's boxing in the United States. He's fought cisgender male professional boxers.

The Mack Beggs case is probably the single best answer to the your question.


Beggs essentially said: I'm a boy and I want to wrestle boys.
Texas said: You were born female, so you have to wrestle girls.
He then won two girls' state championships.

The CBA governs eligibility. Currently, the CBA restricts eligibility to “women” but it is not further defined. Gender identity - transgenders - are not recognized as a constitutionally protected class under the Equal Protection Clause …..and I seriously doubt that the US Supreme Court will act to include that class of individuals any time soon. Same for the parties to the CBA.
