I'm not betting against the one S kid. Think WKN owes me something for the heads up on the trap ... maybe a chicken coup ... dont have one of them on my farm.

Chase you owe me a buck, there's no wrestler named Messenbrink in D1. Corby chickened out. I'll collect at NDI you can buy me something at concessions. Wait ... you can't buy anything for a buck these days. Bring me a stick of gum and we'll call it even. :)
Though many have tried I do not know of any successful chicken coups.

I don't think we catch PSU this year. That being said, depending on how the lineup shakes it out, it doesn't take a homer to say it could be 5-5. You can argue we are better at 133, 141, 149, 157, HWT (again depending on how the lineup shakes out). To catch up, guys like Vega, Rob, and probably Ross have to be bonus hammers. PSU ability to rack up bonus is where it becomes daunting. You also need PSU to continue to struggle at 141 and heavy. I think 165 is very weak so Dee being the second best guy at that weight would be big.

For the first time in a while, if we dualed PSU this year, I think we could win. Not saying we would but it would be a heck of a dual on paper.
I agree that we don't catch them but this is the first year it seems possible for us in a long time.

Last year we could've won in a dual as well. Favorites at 133, 141, 157, and 285. 149 was a tossup. Swiderski wins and it's 5-5. Sergio pins Braeden Davis to give us the bonus advantage. Not likely, but possible.
Bold of you to think 157 is not a toss up and OSU are favorites lol. I would think 125, 133, 149, 157 were all tossups last year. 141 and 285 were only weights OSU would have been favored. Rest PSU.

Would love for Dee to go and take the 165 spot but we need him to be what he is capable of and go score bonus points. He wrestled not to lose last year in my opinion.

My point was that a dual was winnable last year and you have 6 weights where we'd have been favorites or tossups, so you agree 👍

Heard some good stuff on Lorenzo Norman the last few days. Heard he looks awesome and scored multiple first period TDs against AF in a match. Guess he's crazy strong and if he gets his hands on a leg he finishes! Focused on getting his conditioning up to match his high offensive output. That bodes well for lots of bonus next year!

Norman is good and him taking down Facundo a few times is no shock. He's always been a good finisher his length allows him to chase the far ankle and secure it .

He also has sexy leg defense with his scramble ability. To me, this will be a Hamiti 2.0 for us and will be a problem at the weight. 74 is no picnic, but this guy ain't no Yogi Bear.

I was being nice. It was like 5xs the first period. No one else could do that to Alex imo.

I have always liked him he's talented he's always been a winner. I see Minto a clear #2 behind Levi for now but I'm excited to see Minto vs Norman this year
This reminds me so much when people thought OToole and Levi were tier of their own and Hamiti was one step below them.

I’ll actually agree with this one. Corbs was on the Hamiti train before we knew about the DT results train.
With this one WTF 🤣. I think the guy the fans will fall in love with this year will be Norman. Two years ago he lost to OToole by 2 and Hamiti by 1. I am not saying he's gonna win it like Hamiti did but he's gonna impress the Oklahoma st fans and he will be a fan favorite

Yes, I don’t always agree with you or even like you. You have a schtick…persona if you will.

On DJ, you were even in persona arguing about how good he was.

Whoever goes at 141 I think is a semi final contender. WS likes proof of purchase so always going to rank guys who haven’t wrestled as much lower.

Norman with so much potential to make a splash at 174 to pick up a few more.

Even if we see Berge improve significantly in our room that’s gonna be a really tall order to break top 4 at 184.

Ross as a true freshman national champ heavy sure is something and I’m here for it but woof.

The really cool thing about this lineup and the hype is that there’s only two seniors with TS and BB.
Love this post.

Agreed on Berge, he could be a fantastic transfer for us and finish 5th and have a great year. There are currently four studs in the weight class who can all win it.

I think Ross has to weigh 245+ to win the NC at HWT. If he can put on that weight and maintain all of his quickness and explosiveness he will have a great shot. There are not any true hammers in the class this year.

And the really, really, cool thing about TS and BB being the only two seniors on the team is that we have absolute stud recruits waiting in the wings to replace them when they graduate!
