Poll will drop at 11AM tomorrow. In my experience the coaches poll usually favors Iowa more than the AP by about 2 spots.

Most AP Poll predictions I’ve seen have Iowa coming in around 18-22, with a high of 16 and a low of 23.

I predict Iowa will be #18 tomorrow.

Seasons right around the corner, can’t wait!

Why do people think they should be ranked? No QB with any real game experience. Jones and Dunker gone. Front seven on defense will be a major work in process.

I was suprised all offseason the amount of love Iowa was getting from the media. But I think they’re willing to bet on Phil Parker’s defense, even with a lot of new faces. I also think they’ve been willing to start buying into the Iowa offense under Tim Lester after the Vandy win.

Both QBs have been in the system over a year unlike Gronowski. We have 3 games for warmups.

Loaded for weapons on offense more so than recent teams, even at WR

If you don't have every confidence that this O-line will be great, I can't help you.

And if you're worried about a PP defense, then I can't help you. There's inexperience. But if DT is serviceable, which I believe it to be, this could be the most athletic D Iowa’s had in a while

Unranked and rightfully so. Preseason rankings are almost all about recruiting and ours lacks something
I’d argue preseason rankings is based off number of players returning or how many were lost based off previous season for the team and their success. What a team has for incoming freshman minus the few who can see the field has little impact on preseason rankings.

You're more right than I am. Recruiting rankings from the previous years certainly goes into the equation. Maybe not so much the incoming freshman

I agree with talent brought in over the years and retaining them. I think portal players matters a ton now with addition and lost. One thing Iowa has had going for us is we have been low end consistently under Kirk for players leaving. Even more so with impact players. We only lost 2. Entringer but we replaced with some good players like JMU safety. Craig hurts little more with question marks on DL.

I see other pundits putting Iowa 20-25 range so maybe that’s where Iowa will be in the initial poll. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if Iowa ends the season there. To be fair, I always focus on the negatives pre season ( DL this year and QB uncertainty).

I don't doubt they will all be good. Eventually. There will be 1-2 starting OL in street clothes halfway through camp because that happens every year. It will take until the 4th game for there to be any continuity on the line. And if you think the D line is going to be elite out of the box, I can't help you

#25 or not ranked, a few too many unknowns as in QB, DLIne, some OLine spots, a few new Dbacks and Lbkrs
