In case you missed it, she was at a press conference after the team`s - Indiana Fever - win. She answered one question then when an Outkick reporter tried to ask her a question about Sophie Cunningham`s(her teammate by the way) comments she suddenly got the hell out of there. She was polite, said "thank you have a good day" and some team spokesperson did say, when she was asked the question, "we`re going to shut it down" or some spineless comment like that. I`m sure they have been told to be quiet about the issue of biological men playing in women`s sports(and robbing countless biological girls of championships, trophies, etc.) but I`m sure they have told Sophie not to comment. She appears the only one - at least that I know of - that has the courage to speak up. Is there anyone else in this league that has? Caitlin Clark says very little even though she has been treated so unfairly by the league. Their coach is awful, said she wasn`t "educated enough" to offer a viewpoint or some BS. If Aliyah had spoke up and backed Sophie, what would they have done? The league won`t even punish Angel Reese and Paige Beukers for betting $400 on a game between their teams!! Oh sure, they were just joking, right. Try that in the NBA, NFL, MLB and see what that gets you, or even the NCAA. Women fought so hard for Title Nine, equal treatment, etc. and now they are betraying their own. Very sad to see. Sophie is now a hero in my book.

Im not surprised by anything the WNBA does.
The only thing that would surprise me is if the WNBA actually took a stand for anything outside of woke ideology.
I do not expect people without moral fiber to act like they have it nor am I surprised when they prove they have none.

They are just looking for a "gotcha" answer, and Boston wanted no part of it. Besides, it's pretty much a non-issue. Sophie only brought it up because she knew it would get a lot of clicks for her social media channel.

This is actually a very good question.
This is about no one in particular, but a lot of people ( and I sometimes fall into the trap) only see an issue with people voicing their opinion when they disagree.
When a player, coach or team makes a statement we agree with, its taken for granted. Its only the people we disagree with that need to stay in their lanes.
The problem with the original question is Boston is being criticized for not giving an opinion. It seems she should only have given an opinion that agreed with the OP.

I wouldn't hold your breath on Sophie. She's swimming upstream. She's staked a kind of middle of the road position...basically it's great if you want to be trans, but just can't have biological men in girls sports. Most often people in her position cave under pressure. Even Clark caved in and eventually fessed up to white privilege for her success.

It's ok to be mad or disappointed in Boston, I guess, for any reason you come up with but it's clear the question wasn't something she wanted to get involved with at all- which the Outkick reporter was trying to elicit a response to make it an issue. I would imagine she would have stayed and answered basketball questions though.
There are no trans women playing in the WNBA. There are none trying to play in the WNBA. It's a total non-issue. How this has become a topic is pure politics.
Many of these players probably realize that they have fans of all types - including young fans that are transgendered and they do not want to needlessly wade into what is a political debate over something that isn't even an issue they are dealing with in their workplace.

This whole "crisis" is being manufactured by the media and the WNBA is too stupid to avoid the trap. A liberal polling organization last year reported that 79% of the US is against "men" playhing in womens sports. That is about as unified as this country is right now about any damn thing. Its a nothing burger that is purely media staged for whatever purpose; drive more wedges, get more clicks or whatever.
The crazy thing is- I know two trans people quite well- neither one of them cares at all about this issue. I even asked one of them about it specifically. The response I got was something like "I don't care about sports. I don't watch sports. I don't play it so it's not something I am concerned with either way and don't know any trans person that really cares either way"
This is really an issue that impacts probably 0.0001% of Americans. In this case, it impacts no one as there are no trans players in the WNBA or even trying to play in the WNBA.
The only people I hear talking about this issue - well - I am not going to say it. It's an odd thing to be fixated on.
I remember reading that the SC High School League (Founded in 1913) had said in their history they had never had any trans people ask to play a sport that would require permission, or consideration.
