My classmate and pal Brad Jones played OL; his first and last game. Held DL Darrell Russell in check too. Awesome game but Brad’s health wouldn’t allow for anymore football.

Enis, one of my all time favorites. A beast with speed. That was a fun game to attend. Great tailgate, great game.

Enis is in my top three all time. He's the greatest power back of all time at Penn State but his combination of solid speed, good vision and the power made him scary good. If he had better offensive lines his production would be scary. By the second half linebackers were side tackling him if you know what I mean and dbacks were tackling his shoes.

I’m of multiple minds on this.

On one hand, yes it’s a crazy disparity in what the suit incident meant then versus the absolute nothing it would mean now.

At the same time — if you follow the rules of the era you’re living in, you don’t get hit with the consequences that era lays out clearly. And what did Enis ultimately lose out on here? Playing in a single bowl game that in today’s world he would very likely have opted out of anyway. His teammates who HAD followed the rules all the way really lost out more than Enis himself did. I’m sure many of them would have loved to have had the feather in their cap of bringing Joe a victory against Spurrier.

And my last thought is: as tough as the rules made it on many of the kids of that era who couldn’t earn any money while playing their college ball, the clear-cut line-in-the-sand regulations of those days have a certain appeal in hindsight compared to the free-for-all shitshow we have now.

We randomly met John Robinson at a Bills game in San Diego in 1998. He was sitting right behind in the upper deck end zone. Rob Johnson was QB for the Bills. We asked Coach why he was there and sitting in such crappy seats and he said it was for a Bachelor party for one on Johnson’s friends.

That was the game that Johnson got knocked out and Flutie took over and became a fan favorite.

I was on my honeymoon in Cost Rica and never saw the game. I did record it though and I was looking forward to watching it when I returned. I remember I get home and turn the recording on and it starts out with some local news. No big deal, they had local news on before the ABC telecast. So I fast forward and after about a minute I realize something is not right. I then realize the recording was on AM not PM for that day so it recorded from 12am to 4am not 12pm to 4pm. Oh well. So I check the score and see we were drubbed 20-6 with a pathetic offensive output. Mike McQueary at the helm, putrid QB play. We had an obligatory turnover inside their 5 and other squandered opportunities. I have watched parts of the game on YouTube then. Why? I don't know. We really could have used Enis in that game as well as Jurevicious.

He was unfairly punished for being an elderly man who did not comprehend the crime of pedophilia. That's always been my position and always will be.
