I’d take kohler in a heartbeat though. Be our Andrew Carr
Would love to have Kohler, big strong and smart. But I would be surprised if he were to leave Izzo.

How can an alleged fan of UK Basketball be so terrified of other teams recruiting? If you're scared, come crawl in my pocket, I'll protect you SMHWhat is wrong with you? How could this ruling do anything but hurt UK? We have 1 roster spot and there are now thousands of players available, some that were great last year, for hundreds of other schools.
That would be a ridiculously good add. Easily a Top 5 team with Saunders

You’re always whining. Stop being a Vincent Pastore.Tell the bald one
Hmm maybe we should win something and fans wouldn't "whine". Can't wait until we finally get a real coach and go back to winning at the correct rate for this program. You’re always whining. Stop being a Vincent Pastore.
@DirtyHarry he just called you outHmm maybe we should win something and fans wouldn't "whine". Can't wait until we finally get a real coach and go back to winning at the correct rate for this program.
I doubt Smith is coming back, thankfullyIf Braden Smith comes back, this season is the CBB version of idiocracy. Flush the season in the toilet and call it a reality TV Show.
Dude is like 30 years old already. Coming back to college would be a total loser move when you're already drafted. Time to move on.He will make it hard for Chandler, when he goes back to BYU. He's a great player, hope he gets over his injury, where ever he goes.
Hope to God this whole thing is washed - it's going to be a big asterisk of a season. All the top coaches had their rosters set, so this will only help coaches like Will Wade.I doubt Smith is coming back, thankfully

He'll be 25 in September. The sport needs some boundaries are this point. We have 25 year old playing with 17 year olds now? Why not open up CBB to 30 year old that didn't get a full 5 years of college ball? Maybe there are some 2019 grads out there that didn't get a full 5 years. Make it looks like the local YMCA.He's 24 and a hell of a player, you only missed him by 6 years. Making fkn millions is a loser move?
We will never get him, but he would change our team big time.
Maybe a 17 year old shouldn’t be going to college numb nutsHe'll be 25 in September. The sport needs some boundaries are this point. We have 25 year old playing with 17 year olds now? Good lord the NCAA sucks - what a mess. If 25 year old second rounders that get drafted come back, the sport has honestly turned into a monstrosity. Let all these kids go to Will Wade, slap a giant asterisk on him if they do anything and let everyone else play within some sort of rule system.
Hey bozo, have you read the new 5/5 rules:Maybe a 17 year old shouldn’t be going to college numb nuts
College doesn’t have an “age” you can literally go at any age
I don’t want Richie Saunders, I just feel like you sound stupid arbitrarily putting a deadline on a players career.Hey bozo, have you read the new 5/5 rules:
The New Age-Based Rules
They make exceptions for religious missions, only reason he would be eligible.
- The 5-Year Clock: Gives athletes five total seasons to compete within a strict five-year window tied to turning 19
Stop being a BBN bozo who once new meat hits the wire, you're in the salivation line begging to throw money at the next shiney thing.
Pope already has a solid roster, is through summer practices, building chemistry. Let's now desperately recruit over kids that have been working hard to position themselves in the rotation with a 25 year old. That's going to build amazing chemistry, let me tell you.
I swear, most of the stunads on this board have no idea how to build a program. Zero. They treat building a roster/program like shopping at TJ Maxx.
Top coaches won't touch this group this late in the game. Allowing 25 year old draft picks back into college is such a bastardization of the sport. I hope it doesn't happen.
Other than the ruling what reason/ difference is their between a 24 and a 25 year old? Non.Arbitrary? There is a rule in place. There are exceptions for religious missions. The whole college sports scene is a giant jumblefuck monstrosity - we don't need 25-26 year olds playing college sports. It defeats the point of calling it a college sport. At that rate you might as well just let the NBA buy the label, slide under the NBA and call it the G League with college sponsors on the jersey.
Sure, fill the spot, but make it a depth piece and let kids who have been been battling in camp keep their spots.
Man, this concept just shows how broken the sport is. We are going to run every top coach out of CBB to the NBA or retirement unless they fix this damn thing & no one is going to care anymore at some point. Congress needs to get involved and involved fast, it's definitely hit critical mass in terms of chaos.
Maybe UK gets back on the scene because CBB becomes so dysfunctional, no one is going to care anymore and all top coaches bolt.
Byu and major injury?Just had ACL surgery. No way.
The main purpose of NIL is that college players are getting their fair share of the revenue pie and being paid, given they are the product. We should all support that. But there is no other sport out there where players get paid with a looser, more chaotic system. It's a free for all. The NCAA has done literally nothing to govern the chaos, and anything it has done has been fully reactive. We have players on contract overseas being loaned (StJ), kids who have signed contracts with the NBA now back in college (Providence).College sports will always be college sports as long as the games are mainly played on college campus or close by. Don't look to hard into things and make it like it's 1950.
If the way it has been the last three years is survivable, anything is. Things aren't changing they changed already. We're playing catch up. Might as well catch up instead of catching up all the time.
I'm sure the college kids won't skip going to the game if there's a 25 year old player on their team. "You going to the game tonight? Na...we got a 25 year old player. Gotta be 23 or 24."
Where do you draw the line? At some point you have to set some structure and precedent. The rules honestly don't seem all that hard. Time. to kill the AJ Storrs of the world.Other than the ruling what reason/ difference is their between a 24 and a 25 year old? Non.
also Why should a kid be punished for taking a gap year or getting injured
I swear I'm not being a smart as s or being a troll when I say this but man...are you ..not literally you but are you going to sit here and see the college game and the world today and say the word integrity? We didn't draw the line 30 years ago. It is what it is.The main point of what's happened the last three years is that college players are getting their fair share of the revenue pie and being paid, given they are the product. We should all support that. But there is no other sport out there where players get paid with a looser, more chaotic system. It's a free for all.
College kids won't skip going to the game, but at some point the sport needs some integrity. This 2022 rule was passed, now they're talking about 2021 class that didn't lapse their eligibility raising suit. It's a clusterfuck.
Where do you draw the line? At some point you have to set some structure and precedent.
In the meantime, you’ll just spend your time bitching and complaining. Makes sense.Hmm maybe we should win something and fans wouldn't "whine". Can't wait until we finally get a real coach and go back to winning at the correct rate for this program.
Sure, integrity was thrown out the window a long time ago when John Wooden was boostering money to Lew Alcindor, but at least there was some structure back then. Kids looked and acted like college students, even if they didn't go to class. Now we're talking about Jimmy Saunders getting drafted and coming back to college at a 25 years old.I swear I'm not being a smart as s or being a troll when I say this but man...are you ..not literally you but are you going to sit here and see the college game and the world today and say the word integrity? We didn't draw the line 30 years ago. It is what it is.
You’re right. Bro, our home court is named after a guy who was known to pay $50 per game to each of our players. We are Kentucky, the villain of college basketball.I swear I'm not being a smart as s or being a troll when I say this but man...are you ..not literally you but are you going to sit here and see the college game and the world today and say the word integrity? We didn't draw the line 30 years ago. It is what it is.

A redshirting player still counts against the 15 player limit.Theoretically why couldn’t teams with a full roster just pay the lowest man to red shirt with NIL money if he agrees to do it? I don’t see why that wouldn’t work.
Nothing about money was mentioned. This is simply about adding a player. No one knows what the price is or what UK is willing to spend. The lineup with Mitchell is simple…Diallo, Wilkens, Mom, Mitchell, Moreno.Who would he kick out the lineup and he is gonna want a massive bag.
Correct. Sorta like the Brayden Smith stuff last year. So silly.Would love to have Kohler, big strong and smart. But I would be surprised if he were to leave Izzo.
Pope gonna Pope.Mitchell is available and we are after this guy?
For sure. We should all stick out our chests…showing our confidence…the last two seasons and this offseason certainly warrants that.Hmm maybe we should win something and fans wouldn't "whine". Can't wait until we finally get a real coach and go back to winning at the correct rate for this program.
And you will spend your time being ignorantly confident in what’s been going on with the basketball program the past 26 or so months? In the meantime, you’ll just spend your time bitching and complaining. Makes sense.
Money has to be mentioned. Otherwise you living a pipe dream thinking yea they just love Kentucky and want to come.Nothing about money was mentioned. This is simply about adding a player. No one knows what the price is or what UK is willing to spend. The lineup with Mitchell is simple…Diallo, Wilkens, Mom, Mitchell, Moreno.
All this said, appears there’s no interest. No surprised.
Hope to God this whole thing is washed - it's going to be a big asterisk of a season. All the top coaches had their rosters set, so this will only help coaches like Will Wade.
