So, the usual suspects....

Don't know enough about what H-F brings back.
I would have Naz maybe higher.
Brook for sure in "next up".
Replace SF with Montini in "next up".
I am not sure Simeon beats any team on that list.
I'd probably have ESL ahead of BR.
I would toss Providence in "next up".

From the looks of my socials H-F is starting to be the south suburban all stars again. Montini is probably in my next 5. My issue with the Broncos is going to be the schedule, they have to really impress against Naz, SF, and Rita to move up. Simeon has been similar to H-F on my timeline with the talent, I look for them to surpass MP and Kenwood in the CPL.

I struggled with ESL and BR, decided to give the Crusaders the edge based on the last time we saw each of them. ESL can jump to #1 week 1.

I thought you were just giving a bump to teams on your schedule 😉

At least you don't have Marist ranked!

I see Montini going 8-1 with a possible loss to Naz because Naz has a strong D but not sure they have the secondary to hang with Naz but I'll take Naz at this point. But I think they finish 13-1. Rita lost a lot to graduation and the portal including their best receiver to, go figure, Montini. I think they should to be in most top 10's.

Oswego...are they top 5 good? Honest question do they return a lot, I have no idea.

I like Sandburg this year. Maybe not top 10, but top 15 maybe.

Marist has a tough schedule and can earn their way in, but I'm not sure how they ended up in the Blue. Montini will win a championship and have anywhere from 0 to 3 losses. They're going to need one of their opponents that they beat to make some noise. Oswego? Yes, last season was the supposed to be a step back from the prior, this season is supposed to be up. People have been talking about Sandburg, I'm going to need to see the results first. If they beat Montini it will be a step in the right direction.

I must have missed the Lake County FB flyer on Warren.

LZ will be the top team up north. Then Barrington, IMO.

Would like to see Warren maintain their dominance up north but I think they take a step back with Stewart gone.
I dont know, I dont think they duplicate Stewart, that would be amazing, but I think their philosophy is repeatable.

Also they scheduled Loyola, so I know their coach has confidence in his squad to be not taking a step back

Don’t think either of LZ or Barrington will be all that good. Both are young. Neither have a QB. Hersey will win the MSL and Stevenson will win the NSC

How they ended up in the Blue I have no idea it depends on who you ask. They finished 3rd in the CCL Orange which is the 3rd level of the CCL. Iggy did their 2 year torture in the Blue without complaint. I thought it would go to the next levels Champ, Nazareth. Or to Rita.....or Montini.....but Marist who went 4-5 and missed the playoffs got it. Some point fingers and say Naz and Rita turned it down but can you turn it down? I have no clue. I was told Marist was put in there based on having the highest enrollment which I don't believe enrollment is a factor otherwise they would'nt have been in the Orange the past two years. So I have no clue.

Hersey isn't getting mentioned in a lot of preseason talk. I don't know much about them other then they have one of the best QBs in the State. Last year they made the quarterfinals but it looks like their defense was a weak point because Rita put up 50 on them and Rita offense wasn't considered dynamic by many.

Thats why there was a discussion about certain schools claiming to be seeking competition while in actuality they were ducking competition. Once you see it you cant unsee it. Marist in the Blue makes zero sense with the current set up.

Thats also the reason I dont like proposals to use some sort of algorithm to class and seed the playoffs. Everything should be above board.

This is very reasonable. I would agree with McCaravan, though--I think Montini should be in this Top Ten. Good stuff.

Speaking of Warren. I drove by that school the other day. Upon approaching it, I had no idea that was a school--unique-looking building, imo.

Was coming home from one of the best golf courses I've ever played: Lake County Forest Preserve, Thunderhawk, in Beach Park. Never heard of the course nor the 14,000 populated Beach Park. A PGA tour event can be held there.

Stevenson - ain’t happening. Sorry.

And I was strictly referring to Lake County teams. Only the Broncos from the MSL map to Lake County.

But carry on.

Have been very active in the portal this offseason. RB from Wisconsin and Stevenson receiver from what I know. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more on top of that

Agree on the Barrington assessment. They graduated alot of impact players. Star WR transferred to IMG down in Florida, all they really have is the good RB. Truth be told, Barrington, Fremd and Palatine all need to replace alot of key people this year. The most obvious being Fremd - the new QB is not Johnny O'Brein- he was a once in a generation player.
I.know Palatine most because I follow them. Their good RB transferred to Notre Dame in Niles. He was a bruiser, but his replacements will all be speed burners. Brandon Martino will be senior at QB. He's worked hard and really looked good in some 7 on 7s this summer. Has a few offers eventhough He's not yet started a varsity game( Looked good in last 3 quarters of LWE game after Santiagoz got hurt). Defense returns alot, will be a strength- led by Eliaz Egbe at MLB. He's been rated 4 stars going into his junior year and already has Big 10, Big 12, ACC offers -and I think even an SEC offer.
