Really surprised MCMG didn't debut last night. Once I realized the tag title segment with Rene was a pretape I knew it wasn't happening. Maybe they are debuting tonight to counter program TNA? That would be super petty given MCMG's history with TNA.

Gotta hand it to the E on this aspect. Having a freaking Danhausen ice cream truck at SummerSlamhausen, with him handing out ice cream to the fans is a tremendous idea.

As bad as Raw was (in my view), I'm pretty sure Netflix execs aren't looking for 25 minute matches made day of. They also probably have no idea who Meltzer or SRS are and have no interest in JDfromNY screaming in his apartment. I don't know if they're pleased or not but all WWE has to do is point to the full house in LA and I'm sure that impressed them.

There's a talking point that Netflix is upset, may toss Raw to the curve in a few years, and Triple H's days are numbered. Meanwhile, they just did 15k Monday, will have 30k+ each night of Summerslam, and Netflix apparently wants more Unreal seeing as how a third season just debuted. If you're an executive with a heavy interest in WWE, none of that sounds bad.

Creatively, WWE isn't great atm and hasn't been for awhile but as long as butts are still in seats, I have a feeling Netflix is content. This bubble we're in is tiny. The money guys do not care what Russo has to say about Triple H on YouTube or what Redditors are saying daily about WWE's "AI slop" PLE posters. This is like when WWE fans kept saying WBD was upset with AEW and may cancel them. It's fantasy doom booking.

How does Ace Austin's steroids go pretty much only to his legs? Does he like stand straight up in a gerbil wheel-like centrifugal device for an hour or two after he juices?

Aaa cooking

The venue they were previously booked in only had a capacity of 1.5K. TripleMania is the AAA version of WrestleMania. It was complete incompetence to ever book it in a venue that small to begin with. Would be like putting WrestleMania in an arena that only holds 5K people.

They did 50K and 58K for SummerSlam last year, and that was without offering big discounts like $25 tickets.

Two years ago they did 56K. Three years ago it 51K. 4 years ago it was 40K. 5 years ago it was 46K.

Either night this year could very likely end up setting the SummerSlam record low for single day attendance in the stadium era.

Anyway, speaking of attendances…

CMLL did historic business last year that no one outside of WWE has ever done before and this year they are obliterating what they did last year

MCMG got a huge pop for their debut last night but also the debut can be summed up in one GIF

Getting Old 30 Rock GIF

What's enat though is assuming they eventually win the tag titles, they'll be the first team to win the "Big 4" modern (modern meaning post WCW/ECW) American tag titles - AEW, TNA, WWE, and ROH. Also won the biggest junior heavyweight tag titles in Japan in the IWGP Junior tag titles.

Apples to oranges but Sasha got a huge pop when she debuted in Boston
Basically debuting, especially in one's hometown, is a guaranteed huge pop.

Unless it's some relatively unknown person, like when Butcher and the Blade debuted and Jim Ross was unironically going "who" on commentary 🤣

WWE tends to overdo it (think YEET) but the IWC isn't going to shame WWE into not using Danhausen when he's currently making them a ton of money. Now obviously we don't need 4 or 5 Danhausen segments on every show but featuring him weekly won't change unless fans stop buying his merch.

Having said that, if you're a lapsed fan who hasn't watched since the days of Austin and you're remembering how many segments he got and how hot wrestling was then and then look at who is getting multiple segments in 2026, you're probably thinking WTF lol. Plus Bron needs a slight repackaging. His music is create-a-wrestler and his singlets look cheesy. Dude is wearing crap that says "Badass" and "Bark" or whatever. The Big Dawg woof woof crap didn't work for Roman, it won't work long term for Breakker.

Why would AEW have trusted him to do something like that correctly? Isn't he known for being back a jackass and an insane person?
I thought the exact same thing. But AEW is well known for letting the talent do creative stuff like music and artwork for merch (Orange Cassidy and Hangman have designed a bunch of their own merch, for two examples), so I could see why they would agree to it in that regard.

However, there should have been a deadline of a full 7-days in advance or else AEW makes it. One week is plenty enough time for that production team to whip up something decent from scratch for a preshow or to perhaps edit what is provided if there was enough there to work with.

Wrestling journalists are very obnoxious but others have also complained about the length of shows. That's more of a "you" problem though at this point. You know what you're getting into with AEW PPVs. It's a monthly marathon and every match gets anywhere between 18-35 minutes. If Brock and Oba were in AEW, their matches would get like 21 minutes and Dragon Lee vs Evans would get 26 minutes. With overruns, those hurt Dynamite's overall rating but what else would WBD put at 10pm on a Wednesday? TK isn't going to say "no, I'm fine with my two hour slot and do not want more national tv time."

So how would this thread fix Giulia? She was buried last night and won't be a part of Summerslam. I see constant complaints about her treatment in WWE online but no answers so I'm asking. What's missing because she's gotten matches, title reigns, a talker for her, video packages...and still little to no reaction from fans, except during tours outside of the states but even then it's a normal, positive reaction and nothing massive. Does her character need to be tweaked? Does she need to become a sadistic heel type and be more aggressive? Theme change? Look change?

Some online may say it's booking/creative but it's not only that. Like with Theory, he'll likely stay a midcard guy but I do think him with Maxxine is going to work and is already working as far as fans giving him and her more of a reaction. There's something missing with Giulia's character and I think it's more than gahhh Triple Paul suxxxx. Or is it just her not meshing with the whole WWE thing and she'd be better off in AEW? Like, why does IYO get the reaction she gets and Giulia gets crickets?

Send her to AAA and let Undertaker and Jeremy Borash once again run circles around the entire *hit for brains creative department on the main roster.

If that doesn’t work then release her and let her go to AEW, Marigold, or STARDOM (though Marigold the more likely of the two joshi companies). With her in-ring ability, she would be treated like a god in those companies.

Short of AAA there’s no fixing her in WWE at this point. The booking of the entire main roster is largely incompetent (not completely but largely). The women’s division booking is even more incompetent. They have zero clue how to best utilize her particular strengths. Every second she spends on tv there is at best useless and at worse destructive to her future in the wrestling industry.
