Definitely in the WGAS category for me...like all pre-season rankings.We will be higher in the preseason coaches poll IMO because we outperformed expectations last year. This is all based on views as to “who won the offseason” and you have schools like Providence and X atop that list for many because of the on court and off court developments.
also everyone sees MQ as bouncing back after an uncharacteristic down year, with James and the other returnees, the portal additions and because Shaka is a proven coach that’s been at the top of the league recently for a number of years.
Ultimately, while I’d rather us be pegged higher than lower - and let’s be honest we all would - this falls into the WGAS category. It produces offseason discussion and debate, but where we are come March matters.
