Am I the only one that finds it crazy that David Fabor said on CNBC that he got a call about Situational Awareness problem last Saturday night? First of all, if he knew…how many others knew? Second of all, he doesn’t report on what would have been the story of Monday morning and at least allow the public to determine their portfolio risk? Instead situational awareness and Citadel wait until the Fed speaks to tank the market? The timing is not a coincidence
Everyone at CNBC were buying puts! :)

As much as I do listen to the show, CNBC is a circus. For weeks they were pounding the table on Apple throwing around $400 as the next leg up. Then today a few of the usual talking heads said they sold all or portions of their positions in AAPL within 24 hours of the earnings call. So let me get this straight = they say buy, buy, buy all week…then they sell, sell, sell before Tim Cook starts speaking! WTF

Josh Brown seems to be one of the few with consistency. He's in AAPL, TOST, SHAK, UBER, etc. long-term and through the ups and downs.

Fabors a good guy and somewhat reliable. But no one is going to him with any earth shattering market moving news until they have their positions in.
And the primes have been whispering about Situational for weeks. It was no secret they were over levered and didn’t know how to hedge their tail risk. The squeeze was on.

I hear you but with “whispers” about not a single reporter runs the story until after the AI trade and South Korean market crashes for a session? Lots of people knew and undoubtedly repositioned their portfolios and Warsh was used (albeit poorly) as the way to detract from what actually happened. Not to mention Citadel was likely working on this deal for days if not a week. Lots of retail traders got hammered with stop loss triggers and forced selling.

It’s not news until it is. Just rumors. Reporters are not included in the true information flow. And can’t really report rumors. Lucky they found a soft landing because it would have been much worse if it didn’t play out the way it did. The problem is there’s too much information. And the stay at home stock jockeys don’t know how to digest it. Too many people at the casino gambling and not investing.

This is the same group that profited off of buying RobinHood’s order flow from retail and then turned off the buy button when retail had them by the balls. They don’t get paid to care about retail, I’ve grown to respect the game. Its robinhood who deserves less respect and to suffer imo.

I have been telling you guys for a long while now that the guys that come on CNBC or any business news are not to be trusted blindly. They are pumping and dumping or trying to tank a stock to buy at a lower price. PLTR is currently going through something similar.

Worse yet, the disclosures are an absolute nonsense. They would not talk about a stock unless they are in the stock in some fashion.

Love to hear your current thoughts on PLTR. Any good buy levels?

Chart looks pretty good.

Especially with that yield.
Especially considering private credit is where the “oopsie” is going to be. Slight chance Iran war creates worldwide recession but I think that would only steepen the US yield curve…so this play would still work.

I like Josh also, but his Shake Shack bit has been going on for years.
Agree…with that said all of these analysts seem to be as clueless as retail traders more lately than ever. I suspect it’s because AI agent trading is driving all these momentum shifts like never before. I’ve gotten beat up on short term trading this summer as these moves are too fast and too often. And some don’t make any sense - META reports a terrible quarter…price targets are shredded every where…no ROI on many investments and scattered approach going forward = yet after tanking it’s been on a tear. Then you have Apple - the darling that everyone is screaming is going to $400 as the handset will own AI without the cap ex investment isn’t even participating today

You are so correct. I also never get the part where the company posts actual good results & decent guidance, but they get crushed because they didn't make the analyst whisper number. Do analysts really have insight because a company's 10Q / K or Call Report gets dropped into a program and spits out what guidance should be. They all parrot one another, AAPL is great, two minutes later AAPL is BAD.

RDDT bouncing back nicely after getting demolished on earnings last week.

I think rev growth was 60% yoy.

not too expensive at this point either

Citadel has probably made a quick couple $bil on that situational awareness buy.
There were reports of $1.5B-$2B in about 24 hours. In the meantime, retail traders got smoked with stop loss triggers and running scared. I lost money during that free fall Then of course those positions ripped the next day.

Another good example…after analysts pump it on the “human insight” theory it tanks 22% because search referrals are becoming a problem and CEO basically says something like he needs people to use the app to fix monetization - which has to be a joke in the AI age where apps are becoming less and less important. But two days later none of that matters up 10%+ today.

Godaddy misses cash flow big time…stock tanks 20%…back up almost 8% today.

No clue what’s going on these days. On the bright side vast majority of my money is parked in accounts I don’t trade. But my “fun” account not so fun this month as I’ve gotten whip-sawed and sold stocks during drops and missed pops.

Apple goes up and everyone else down when the market decides everyone is spending too much on AI capex. A few days later when the market changes its mind on capex, Apple doesn’t go up because they aren’t spending. Logical in theory

If SPCX continues its downward trend through the unlock on Thursday, Im buying.

CBRS bounced big right after the unlock.
Agreed. I will buy SPCX below $100. In other news, I bought NOW and SOFI leaps this afternoon. My bet is both will get back to ATHs within the next 18 months.

SPCX on a bit of a pre earnings bounce.

Up to $117. 10ish% off yesterdays lows.

Missed it again! LOL.
That is one of the hardest part about investing. When PLTR was $207, no one wants to invest because it had run up too much, etc. “I will buy it once it has corrected”. The problem is that stocks don’t correct for no reason. PLTR went down close to 50% because of concerns about software, short selling, etc. It takes guts to buy a stock that has come down 50%.
