That was the most dominant performance in U17 history with 4 first period pins. The first non-Japanese wrestler to 3x gold

She's also the U20 rep so we'll see how she does there. She lost a few times last year to boys but hasn't lost to another female in quite a while.

I saw where Willie mentioned Tovar was ranked top 10 at 126. I didn’t see the match, but Chase isn’t a huge kid. Was Tovar just that much bigger and fresher? Either way, I’m hoping he dominates for bronze tomorrow. He’s a helluva nice kid

I thought Tovars arms and legs looked thicker than Karenbauer.

Tovar scored with the same TD twice - just a little outside dump to K’s left leg. But K made an adjustment, started wrest from space and hit a good double that was driving Tovar off the mat. Tovar’s butt hit the mat and it looked like K tried to dive over Tovar’s legs to get an additional exposure. But K made a mistake by not continuing to roll through when he landed out of bounds. Ref offered 4 for K. Tovar’s corner through the protest brick. Other two refs gave 2 to K instead of 4. Tovar’s corner cancelled challenge when they saw score was now Tovar 4, K 2. Tovar’s corner through challenge brick again, then tried to cancel it again. But refs wouldn’t let them cancel it s second time. On review, the scoring was changed to 2 for Tovar and K’s 2 taken off board. K insisted move - T didn’t do anything to put K on his back or get control - it was K jumping over after running through a double and stopping on the whistle. I don’t know the rules well enough to know the right/wrong call but it sure didn’t look right.

Thank you for the breakdown. Chase is usually pretty good about staying in a rhythm (see: AA state finals match against Lotier this season) so I’m sure the back and forth of who to give what points wise disrupted that. Regardless, congrats to Tovar on the win. Sounds like he’s got his work cut out for him tomorrow

Howard with slide by to gut one turn and then is reversed. Back to neutral 4-1 Howard single to double to back 4pter 8-1. Snap down and spin around to cheap tilt Howard wins 12-1 in 1:30

Howard is KD Trained and mentioned as a target for Penn State. Looked very strong and quick.

Insanely long challenge on Mat B and corresponding AZE meltdown is putting the Deputy match on B on a crash course with the Restivo match on mat A.

I understand the desire to get things correct but multiple matches being completed on other mats while one challenge is being looked at is unacceptable.

Restivo with single that ends in in him stepping out. down 1-0. Working underhook TJK armspin for nothing. Restivo tries super duck to single for nothing. Restivo single to body lock to a peterson for TJK for 2 Restivo down 5-0 at break. Challenge requestedDeputy up on mat b


3-0 after challenge and another challenge.

TJK feet to back and Restivo reversal and challenge lost Restivo down 8-1. Restivo would have challenged again as a weird scramble is given to TJK. Restivo loses 12-1

Restivo kept getting into folk scrambles that don't work in free. He won the first challenge, lost the second and probably would have won a third if able to challenge.

Both kids from State College, Restivo and OFarrill lost their first match but were both "freestyle'd" in the sense that they gave up points they wouldn't have if they were more familiar with the style.

Homes with double to nothing. sweep single to nothing snap to front headlock. GEO tries dump to thing. Gomez inside single to exposure up 2-0 GEO requests challenge. Ran to Sheetz got gas and breakfast and the challenge on this mat is still ongoing and it's going to push the Howard/Tsarni matches against each other.

Challenge changed Geo up 2-0 counter on Gomez shot leads to a gut and multiple turns GEO wins 10-0

Howard single to nothing Iran underhook slide by for 2 and head between lace for one turn down 4-0. Iran single to a step out. Howard down 5-0 at the break.

Iran keeps digging underhooks and works one for step out. Howard front headlock and spins but steps out on his own but no points? Howard gets underhooked out for another step out 7-0. and another 8-0. Just doesn't have an answer to the underhook and gets flip over a whizzer for a 10-0 loss. Howards corner throws a brick Changed to 17 seconds and a point for a face poke after winning challenge but still lost 8-1 final I believe

Iranian looks much bigger. Iranian digging underhooks but Tsarni holding center. Tsarni with a great single and one gut for 4-0 lead. Another single TD 6-0. Iran already pulling socks and singlet. Tsarni gives up sloppy TD as time expires up 6-2 at break.

Iran single Tsarni counters with ankle pick to Iran single to Tsarni exposure to half for another exposure keeps working the half for a fall with 11 seconds left up 10-2. Tsarni showed great freestyle scrambling
