I didn't realize 9 runs was a gritty performance.
He's an idiot

I believe you are correct that it is Jeffers or bust at catcher even though the Yanks tend to go for guys with team control over walk year rentals. Didn't realize the Colorado catcher was so bad defensively (literally ranks at the bottom of the league in defensive metrics) and they won't play a catcher who...well, can't catch.

I just want at least one contact bat and a high leverage arm in the pen to go with a catcher. While the numbers say the Yankee bullpen has been good, we know the truth and they are running the couple of effective guys into the dirt. I do think Weathers and/or Warren to the pen will be a big help as well. Although, if we get someone at the trade deadline we are all happy about I believe Warren will be part of the package going out. Solid middle/back rotation starter for pretty much anyone.

And yet another frustrating loss. Only Boone can snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory. It's a shame Cam has to keep being subjected to this. Pundits talk about our bullpen and how good it is. Lmao They aren't watching the games. 4 of the 5 relievers last night gave up a run. Boone used 3 relievers with ERAs well above 4 to close the game. Maybe it's good it happened right before the trade deadline.

As soon as the Chisox tied the game I went to bed. There is no reason in hell to watch the Yankees play an extra inning game. Good decision by me.

Even after the blown save the Yanks probably win the game if the catcher didn't try and pick the runner off on third and throw it into left field.

Unbelievably bad and unnecessary attempt.

True, but the Yankees still failed to score in the 12th. I don't see how they cannot get a runner home from 2nd with no outs. They are the worst team in the majors on the road in extra innings which is one of the reasons why they are not in 1st place.

Day game alert (sorry for stealing your normal post 2for)

Scoreless through 3

Weathers on the bump. I could be badly wrong but of everyone that has taken turns in the rotation this year he is the one that I can see really helping the bullpen once Rodon is back. Lefty throwing high 90s cheese could be a major weapon to strengthen the bullpen

I just got home and flipped on the TV to hear the Yankees had struck out 10 times in 12 at bats. Geesh WTF. Why can't these guys hit?

I despise the head first slide. It's just stupid. A clear triple wasted by Dominguez to lead off the inning. Kay and Girardi both despise it as much as me.

My nephew is sitting behind 3rd base. He's pissed off too. Lol He's going to the Cubs game Saturday.

WTF is Boone's love affair with Cruz? The dude can't show a strike to save his life. He relies on bouncing pitches to batters. That is not who you want closing games especially extra inning games. He sucks and has all year.

Now Jazz has a pulled hammy. This whole organization needs a complete overhaul.
Sad part is that they made such a big deal a year or two ago how the training staff was changing a lot of stuff they were doing to help the players be less injury prone.

And yet it just keeps happening. Absurd.

Yankees are looking into reacquiring Clay Holmes, who has a broken leg. You can't make this crap up.

Yanks now a MLB-worst 1-8 in extra innings.
It’s maddening. It will cost us the pennant this year. Not that this season was going to end in a World Series appearance anyway. All the things we were scared of happening..
- Wells stopped hitting at all.
- Volpe stayed Volpe.
- McMahon confirmed who he is at the plate.
- The Martian certainly hasn’t been out of this world.
- Rodon…blah.
- Gil..not even a factor.
- Stanton…cementing his place as worst deal Yanks have ever made.

And we will watch another trade deadline come and go. The Dodgers will get better. The Phillies will get better. Heck, the Braves will make a move. And we will try to sell the idea that the mediocre catcher we trade for paired with a utility infielder is somehow exactly what we needed for the home stretxch. I say it every year….but damn I miss The Boss.

And since this new format was put in they are 2nd worst in MLB on the road. This is why you need a closer that doesn't pitch to contact.

The extra innings w-l record is more a reflection of the non-Bednar bullpen, as I don't think he pitches in extras.

I'm on record as saying how dumb is what to get rid of Luke Weaver. Now a bunch of teams are showing interest in acquiring him before the deadline.

I am ******* sick of Aaron Boone and his continued use of Cruz. Damn Aaron how many times does Cruz have to blow a lead before it registers in your stupid brain to not bring him into a game that is on the line. Just freaking unbelievable. The pen blows another game. Maybe it's good it's happening yet again with the trade deadline looming.

With the YES Network and the NY market…and the overall brand dominance that the Yankees have…can anyone explain why we don’t spend anymore? Yes…we’ve signed some good FAs in Cole and Rodon and Fried and we did land Soto and Belly…but there are several other teams who are willing to open up the checkbook more than we do now. Is it simply the greed of the Steinbrenner kids?

Little Stein absolutely HATES writing the “tax” check for going over the payroll thresholds. That’s basically it

Hal is in it to make money but still wants to win. He doesn't want to pay the luxury tax so he is not going to spend like George did. It's a shame Hank died. He was more like his dad.

My biggest beef with Hal is getting all these rejects and injured players from other teams hoping they regain their former stellar play. That has failed miserably and is the reason we can't get over the hump.

Ben Rice had such a good eye the 1st couple months but he has been striking out at an alarming rate, especially on pitches well out of the strike zone. Trying to do too much I think with all the injuries.

Yankees starting pitching has been stellar of late. It's a shame the bullpen sucks. And are the Yankees ever going to score more than 2 runs in a game again? 5 wins on this road trip. 1-0 2-0 1-0 2-1 2-1
lmao

That’s crazy. It’s weird because I actually think our starters (when all are healthy) stack up decently with the Dodgers. But our lineup is just bad. Middle-of-the-pack AL bad. Judge and Belly would help a ton if both came back healthy…but is that realistic?

Yankees just gave up 4 pitchers for Luis Garcia. Makes no damn sense. He plays 1st base and 2nd base and is one of the worst defensive players in the NL. He bats left handed. We need right handed hitters and WE NEED SOME RELIEF PITCHERS. Dammit Hal and Cashman.

It really is baffling. Unless there is a revisiting of Rice at catcher (and I thought we’d confirmed that was not going to be explored further). We will still trot out Volpe, Wells, McMahon and Jazz basically every night…and will hope that Jones and The Martian can provide consistent offense down the stretch.

I don’t mind the Garcia pick-up. Really only gave up quantity, not quality. Will definitely help the line up. It’s like they made the bonus move first

But there still HAS to be a move for a reliever tomorrow and a righty catcher. Has to be

We all know stats lie when it comes to this bullpen, but it will get worse if nothing added. Boone can’t run the same 3 arms out every single night before they completely wear out

Where is Garcia going to play? You got Rice and Goldschmidt at 1st base, Jazz at 2nd. Garcia is a terrible defensive player. Do you move Jazz back to 3rd? Do you worry about this after the season by trading Jazz or McMahon? I guess we will find out soon enough.

I know he's terrible defensively. I just DH him. I'm sure when Stanton gets back he'll stub his toe and be gone again.

He helps the batting order. That's a huge positive right now

I personally don't think Jazz will be in the Bronx next season.
