From last night's debate coverage

A chatter points out that many candidates on stage during the Wisconsin Democratic Debate seem progressive and Hasan correctly explains that it's because @FrancescaHongWI is on stage. She is the most progressive candidate on stage. They did this with Bernie Sanders and Zohran Mamdani as well. The other candidates try to appear more appealing by using left-leaning talking points. 👀

As someone living in WI, this will be a fascinating election. GOP is running Tom Tiffany, who is 100% MAGA, & a really unimpressive politician. He's never won anything that hasn't been gerrymandered in his favor. The WI GOP has been working hard to get Hong the nomination, as she might be the only person they feel Tiffany can beat.

Looks like both sides will get what they want.

She seems to be bailing out on all the rhetoric. And rambling.

You would prefer if she stood in front of a table of groceries and talked about how funny that word is and how she would lower the prices on what that silly word represents?

What she said was fine IMO. Might be complete BS, but it seems like that is what people love from politicians today.

Hong will be Wisconsin's next governor. Public has soured on Trump's high gas prices and endless wars. Any election that is close right now will only get worse for the Republican as the geezer drives the Republican candidates chances into the ground.

The GOP is running an election denier. Show me a single country, just one, that is thriving on denying elections.

I'm not so sure. She has a ton of tweets & past statements the GOP will use against her. She's definitely the candidate they want to go against

Your choices are MAGA or Socialist.

Seriously?

God we need a common-sense, centrist, third party for all the normal democrats and republicans.

Centrists are far from normal. There is nothing normal about people like Manchin or Romney helping to prop up rich people while not lifting a finger for everybody else.

@Yellowsnow51 seems more upset with the Hong and Mamdani types from his input on these topics.

Wisconsin is a much larger state than just Madison. While she's cheering on the losers in the CRAZ, the rest of the state is watching.

For those unaware since somehow this doesn't seem to have been discussed here or has its one thread, a multi time felon and career criminal with a history of fighting and threatening cops (and others) got shot and killed after pulling a knife some cops while resisting arrest. After someone called him in for breaking into cars and he fled the cops. So Madison created our nations newest criminal martyr and have shut down the streets with homemade barricades and formed one of their lawless zones like Seattle had. The Corey Ruiz Autonomous Zone, CRAZ. And she's supporting it. Madison takes ultra liberalism to the next level. No other part of the state is like that. Moderate people don't vote for candidates that call the cops maintaining law and order executioners, and don't celebrate the criminals instead. She's not winning anything outside of Dane County.

I might not live in the state of Wisconsin, but I'm right across the river and Madison is an hour away. Believe me outside of the Madison metro area almost no one is OK with any of this.

If you don’t run “The Game” where the average hard working person loses that aspirational attainment, The People will try anything.

Anyone viewing this through the lens of “DSA”/socialism is missing the point. The average voter is looking at this based on the overall balance sheet built over decades. Make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR, I’m not advocating for this. I’m advocating for the REALITY that the Dem/Pub Cabals have created which cause people to look elsewhere. Dems/Pubs make it very clear that they are in the service of HATING PEOPLE. Let me how that business turns out.

Grow up Duopoly, you are losing BIGLY. The People see you as King George.

I do live in WI, & your perspective couldn't be more wrong. The state is still purple, it's gonna be an incredibly close race. Why are people gonna vote for Tiffany? In many ways he's a weaker candidate. He literally has no policy outside of whatever MAGA tells him. Hong says some wild stuff, but she's the candidate of change & people are struggling.

It is pretty purple. And that's mostly because of Madison. That's why a Democrat can win statewide. A radical one can't. Why would someone vote for Tiffany? Because he doesn't celebrate the insanity that is going on in Madison. Somehow it isn't national news, but when that shooting comes back justified and the homes and businesses in those neighborhoods go up in flames it will be. And the moderate voters will react accordingly and choose the extreme candidate who wasn't staging the precursors for the impending bonfire.

I'm a conservative Republican. And I'll tell you straight up that if the election were today, I'm voting for Rob Sand in Iowa. He may be a Democrat but he's moderate and there are many people like me that actually will vote the other way if given someone that they agree with on most things. If Rob Sand were running in wisconsin I'd likely vote for him as well from what I understand about this Tiffany guy, but there's likely not a ****** enough Republican candidate in the galaxy to make me vote for Francesca Hong over them.
