....man i don't know. just hard for me to get excited about what i'm seeing here. Gawd I hate saying that, but he and his speak just don't do it for me. Jmac is pretty good though, he's being really fair.

His Big Ten presser was a buzzkill today also. It's the actual product on the field that is hurting the momentum. He can say whatever he wants, talk about winning seasons and bowl games etc. It's the same thing that we give Iowa fans a hard time for. If you're not competing for anything of significance, you're not moving the needle and you're not relevant.
Fitz had a good presser and good command of the room. I liked the bag of chips comment, good stuff

Just more general coach speak. Nothing burger. I get the low key approach. After all the Ruhle aid media crap the past three years, it better to fly under the radar.

I’ve listened to most of the coaches podium talks. Every single one thanked their AD. Not a mention by Rhule. Makes me think Dannen setting some very clear expectations to Rhule even if not stating them publicly.

Other notables:

—Bielema making a joke that he’s back in Chicago where he first nailed his wife. 🤣

—Bielema saying SEC is still in 2005.

—Cignetti calling out SEC for whining and whimpering instead of putting head down and working.

I noticed there was not a stampede of reporters to the microphone to ask the Hat questions. Sadly, the Husker football keeps falling further into obscurity.

Show must really be hurt’n if they’re interviewing him. I wonder the over-under on how many different times he’s reached out to them to try to get on the program before they couldn’t find even a wnba player to come on and they were forced to say “ok.” 20?

Wow didn’t realize it was BIG media days. A product of no anticipation for the season. I have no excitement for the upcoming season.
I have a feeling the SEC is going to do everything in their power to steal the national championship back this year…

Man, how does Dannen survive firing Rhule? Cost savings? Dannen taking credit for other sports he had nothing to do with? Dannen extended Rhule. We cannot expect to hire a great replacement with a lame duck AD.

There is one and only one way he survives Rhule getting tossed IMO. And that is if he is able to get an elite head coach lined up to replace Rhule.

(Enter the Wannestadt jokes)

There will be no “Okay guys, I fired him - now let me go find someone.”

I am quoting Matt, "I learned from a GREAT coach, Steve Addazio". Great and Steve Addazio just might be the most gigantic oxymoron I have ever heard. Addazio was 61-67 lifetime. His very first season as a head coach he went 9-4 at Temple. In the other 10 seasons Addazio was a head coach he never finished better than 7-5 (once) and 7-6 (four times). He was a head coach at Temple (2), Boston College (7) and Colorado State (2). Addazio was 1-17 against ranked P4 teams and 0-3 plus a cancelled bowl game with Boise State against ranked G5 schools He was also 2-3 in lower-level meaningless bowls. Any of you see any commonality here with another coach we know pretty well? Matt also referenced Addazio as being at Florida. I think to be accurate he should have said "he was an assistant at Florida"
