We have a healthcare system that requires having a job to have reasonably affordable healthcare. When you retire, the only option for the vast majority of Americans is Medicare.

You will use it one day, if Republicans allow it to survive.

I think he feels it won't hurt him (as he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and lose no support) and I don't think he cares about the rest of the party. He only cares about himself.
