Is this the championship game?
Reminds me of Chuck Hayes and OscarChris Coffey playing like a man possessed. Getting every rebound
Winner tonight host the championship game.does anyone know where the champ is played at? You would think these awful announcers would say so but of course not.
I believe we will be hosting it . I’m not 100% sure thoughdoes anyone know where the champ is played at? You would think these awful announcers would say so but of course not.
I think you are right. They finally said it. Sucks for the team that has to travel from Vegas to here. Should be good for our chances.I believe we will be hosting it . I’m not 100% sure though
@ 1 Eastern78-65 La Familia Alumni Champs and will play for $2,000,000 Sunday in Memorial
Link to their website. I'm sure they will have Sunday tickets up soon.Tickets?
I'm one of them. That was frustrated with Archie. But he looked like a poor man's Michael Jordon in this series. If there's two teams that proved Cal's not a great coach, it was the Archie Goodwin Team and the Sarrs Team. With Archie's team, Archie was a ball hog and Cal just threw up his hands and stopped trying to coach him and stopped coaching the team and they faded out first round of NIT.I know a lot of fans were frustrated with Archie when he played for Cal in his first NIT team. Man Archie is our best player. He's our guy in this tournament. I'm glad he's playing for us. He would of been a crazy good player if he were to stay for 2-3 years at UK. Glad he's back!
To be fair I feel like Archie had to do a lot. Harrow didn’t work out. That left Archie, Jared Polson and Julius Mays. Archie was the only one athletic enough to create. The rest of that roster was Wiltjer, Poythress, Noel and WCS. Pieces just didn’t fit. I do think if Noel stays healthy that team ends up Rd of 32 possibly sweet 16.I'm one of them. He is by far our best player.Goodwin still driving out of control
Oh yeah, they’ve been busting their asses off on defense.I watched this from about 2 minutes into the 3rd quarter until the end and one thing struck me. These guys must really need the money because I would have bet when I watched that it would be NBA All Star Game type effort. They won because they were trying on defense. I wasn't ready for that.
P.O.S. Had to work in "my guys." F.U. Cal Are they playing at Arkansas?Congratulations to La Familia who is playing in the TBT and made it to the championship game! I’m loving seeing guys in another championship game, in another final four and doing it for each other! Loving what I see from my guys!
Or it’s a lot of money so why not try? Another awful take Glenn.I watched this from about 2 minutes into the 3rd quarter until the end and one thing struck me. I was actually commending them on their effort.Or it’s a lot of money so why not try? Another awful take Glenn.
Yeah, that's how I took that comment as well. They arent Kentucky's guys, no they are his guys.P.O.S. Had to work in "my guys." F.U. Cal Are they playing at Arkansas?
Archie always got a bad rep. Dude played his *** off short handed. He was on the single worst team possible in Cal’s tenure imo. Any other team and he would have shined. To be fair I feel like Archie had to do a lot. Harrow didn’t work out. That left Archie, Jared Polson and Julius Mays. Who is on the other side’s team?78-65 La Familia Alumni Champs and will play for $2,000,000 Sunday in Memorial
Saying they must really need money. Okay GlennI was actually commending them on their effort.
Okay? The $2 million is a winner-take-all prize paid to the winning team as a whole. The team decides how to divide it among its registered participants (players and sometimes coaches/staff).
Key details
• No automatic or fixed split by TBT. Official rules state the Team Prize “shall be allocated among such Team’s Participants as such Team determines.” The winning team must put the allocation in writing (in a form acceptable to the organizers) before the championship game. Organizers then pay according to that plan.
• Participants typically need to provide tax info (e.g., W-9) and sign eligibility/publicity releases to receive their share.
• Common approaches in past years (when the prize was $1M or $2M) include:
• Equal shares among all players on the championship roster (sometimes including coaches).
• Slightly larger shares for players who played more games or key contributors.
• Coaches or certain veterans taking smaller cuts so players get more.
• Occasional donations of a portion (e.g., to charity).
Examples from prior tournaments:
• Some teams split roughly evenly (around $70k–$140k+ per person depending on roster size and the then-current $1M/$2M purse, before taxes).
• Others varied shares (e.g., star players or those who played more getting more; coaches taking less).
For TBT 2026 the prize is again $2 million winner-take-all (doubled from the recent $1M eras and matching the 2016–2019 level). Only the champion receives it; other teams get nothing from the main purse. The exact per-person amounts therefore depend entirely on how that year’s winning roster chooses to divide the $2M.
Just a little fyi on how money is distributed. Can’t believe I have to explain itOkay?
