#1 Reagan- This team has virtually everyone back from a team who lost in the 7A Final Four to State Champion Grimsley. They have one of the best defenses in the state and they have a stable of backs led by junior sensation John Evans Jr. who is a load to bring down. Statesville Duel Threat QB transfer Koda Harrington will be running the show for Coach Josh McGee who is one of the best with teaching quarterbacks. Big King Kalamba will be the leader on that defense that many believe is the best in Reagan history.
#2 West Forsyth- West Forsyth also made a deep run in 8A before losing to State Champion Hough HS while giving them the closest game they had during the 25-26 playoffs. West has lots of D-1 talent led by one of the best Trio of WR’s in the state. Taylan Grimes, Jailyn Moore and Braylon Marrow hold multiple offers. The offense should be better than ever if talented Sophomore QB Levi Morales lives up to the hype that the Clemmons folks are talking about...The word is … this kid can really spin it, a true passer who is very polished. He’ll have all the weapons and possibly thwart himself into the minds of college scouts. Defensively, West has to replace the 4 starting defensive lineman and those guys were incredible(This is why I picked them 2nd). They will rely on some young big guys up front defensively who are ready to prove themselves. The West secondary is super good led by SEC recruit DB Josiah Nicholson(Missouri) and DB Braylon Marrow who has signed with NCCU…Both go both ways as DB’s & WR’s. Kevin Wallace has done a terrific job since Coach Snow left 4 years ago and he won the CPC Title last year.
#3 East Forsyth- Coach Willert is one of the best coaches in the state and they‘ve been so good for so long that last year was really strange. By there standards, they had a down year. They were young and inexperienced but Willert has some talent led by WR Christian Cepeda who had a great junior season. The defense will be much better with star DL Chosen Hyman(ECU), big guys like Luke Vandergrift and Alan Fiscal. The secondary will be led by DB Zion Dobson(Cal). The QB position battle will be between Jackson Jordan and Brax Johnson and this position could be the difference between 1st and 3rd/4th.
