My guess is they have to get at least 80% of the way there with him.

I was listening to a podcast earlier this week and it sounds like he had a pretty bad summer and everyone but Baylor stopped recruiting him. He committed there before his stock dropped a lot

Interesting. I knew Jaxon Davis was a possibility but Jalen is more a combo guard. I wonder if he’d be in addition to Daughtry and Jaxon or if it’s a first one to commit type of thing.

Davis is out of Washington. Think he might stay on the West coast? He has an official visit with UCLA on Oct. 16.

Ethan Harris is also out of Washington. Hopefully he can be a factor in recruiting the kid.

We play Ohio State that day. Should be an electric day on campus.

Nov 7 is his final currently scheduled official visit (Gonzaga).

Jalen is a top 30 player in the country, recruited by UCLA and Gonzaga, he is definitely not a fallback. Jaxson Davis who is being heavily recruited by MSU isn't either. Ben and coaches would welcome any of these guards with open arms.

Getting a visit is a big step. CD and Jax visit before him so we'll see.

With CD? That doesn’t make sense since Ben’s been on him a long time, Iowa was the only official he had scheduled for months and has been the slight favorite to land him for a bit.

I have no idea what they are thinking or their strategy. With recruits at that level it will take alot to get one of them committed. A commit from a top 50 recruig and top 10 guard would go a long way in Ben's building strategy.

So far, apparently. I assume other visits are in the planning stages nut who knows with high school recruits. Maybe Ben really does have the inside track here. Fingers crossed.

I'd say pretty damn good right now. Things obviously can change but I'm taking Iowa vs the field at this point.

Positive, not confident. CD would be a huge building block for Iowa basketball. I also think McCollum’s coaching would be excellent for CD’s development. CD sees this too. If I had to guess, he commits as long as he likes IC and can see himself living there for a year or two.
