- The Format: The tiebreaker uses a 5-hole, aggregate stroke-play format, conducted in a shotgun start on five different holes simultaneously. [1, 2]
- How It's Scored: Unlike traditional golf where the lowest 4 of 5 scores are counted, all 5 golfers' scorescount toward their team's total in an aggregate playoff. [1, 2]
- The Winner: The team with the lowest combined total score across all 5 players on those 5 holes wins the tiebreaker and advances. [1]
- Subsequent Ties: If teams remain tied after the initial 5 holes, they typically continue to play extra holes on a hole-by-hole basis until the tie is definitively broken. [1, 2, 3]
Correct. We actually ended at the same spot we were favored by the remaining seeded teams. #9.
I am very proud of this team. Remember they lost a lot from last year. This team was young this year. To finish 9th in the nation is a huge accomplishment for this team for this year. This is something they can build on for next year because they will have more experience now. Go Heels!
Good info. Generally makes sense as he probably expected to be in the top 5 lineup but wasn’t even top 6 for NCAA’s (sixth player is the alternate). We lose 2 of those 6, but not cracking the lineup this year maybe leads to some tough feelings.
i feel like he should of been starting over Keaton Vo it may be because i'm bias toward hampton cause i know him but i heard from a mutual friend that he was playing better then Vo
idk how good he is but he early enrolled and idk if he played

Koivun moved to NC basically right before he went to college, not a real from NC situation
Did some more digging... Didn't realize he was from my general area in the CA Bay Area! Went to Archbishop Mitty in San Jose for 3 years which is a private school that costs more than out of state UNC tuition and is a general athletics powerhouse. Guess the parents moved to CH before his senior year mostly due to pursuing his golf prospects. Sounds like he hadn't committed yet to Auburn at the time. Really curious to hear the backstory as to why you'd move to CH to further a kid's burgeoning golf career for his senior season, and not seriously consider the really good program and better college in that town?!? I'm sure Dibitetto knows a thing or two!
Koivun apparently never attended Chapel Hill schools. I believe he finished high school online. I have no idea if he has a relationship with Dibitetto or why the family chose to relocate to CH. It's not exactly considered a top golf destination.
