All the crap we heard about our injuries being an excuse for sucking. Will be their excuse.

Come on, this can’t be true. According to some on this board no school should start the season with an injured or rehabbing player. I guess you just cut them loose and recruit over them. Interesting story though as they have reduced games from two to one, flying commercial and no broadcasts, even radio. Most of these kinds of trips are money losers and in the face of budget deficits at most schools it doesn’t make sense except for the extra practices. This is the issue that is likely to lead to what Pope is recommending with summer contests in the US

10 scholarship players seems rather ignorant to me. It is Louisville we are talking about though.
and just think, those 10 players consist of:

a freshman big that reclassed to the 2026 class
another high risk freshman from china
a SR who spent his first 2 years at Robert Morris only to see his production plummet when he transferred up
and a mcdonalds all american who didnt improve from his freshman year to SO
a 7 footer that is totally useless

that will be hard to do in the ACC. it will be the 4th or 5th best conference again this season. the bottom 3rd of that league just non-competitive.
Yeah. I don’t see that conference surviving very much longer. They suck in the two most important sports. They get cherry picked to death and end up like the pac 12.

Didn’t cal once only have something around that number but I think you could only have 12 at that time.
Yup. And it was a much higher caliber of player. And it was a dumbass move. I like saying I like my team.

yup. ga tech, wf, bc, nd, pitt, cal, stanford and even syracuse just dont have the NIL resources to compete at even an average level. fsu and clemson put all their money into football.

i think there was an era that could work. but now with teams able to stock up in the portal and really add quality players to the 2nd unit not sure its viable. plus seasons are getting longer, i think you will see more and more players getting hurt. you need the bodies.

Unless he is a late bloomer who suddenly blossoms you will not have significant talent from ten to fifteen. It is wishful thinking to think it is great from 8 to 15. You live and die with your 7-8 best players. It just might make sense to save the money, particularly if you are stressed and running a deficit

You need 10 to effectively practice some sets and using managers as practice players doesn't really cut it. The last 5 or 6 players dont have to be great but you still need them, especially before the season starts and at least early into the season.
