The latest version of his speech in Helsinki, standing beside Putin when he said:

“My people came to me, [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats came to me and some others saying they think it’s Russia. I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia,” Trump said. “I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

I will instruct our intelligence to share with our partners the information we have regarding Russia’s new assistance to the Iranian regime. Since the beginning of July, we have recorded active Russian satellite surveillance of the Gulf states and U.S. military facilities located there. These images subsequently appear in Iran. At the same time, there is a clear correlation between Russia’s satellite imagery of these sites and Iranian strikes – both before the attacks, in preparation for them, and afterward, to assess the damage inflicted.

On July 19 and 20 alone, four air bases fell within the area of interest of Russian satellites – two in Bahrain, one in Jordan, and one in Kuwait. The purpose is clear. None of us in the world should turn a blind eye to one very simple fact: evil always seeks ways to make things worse and spread further. Russia must be stopped. This war must be stopped. Pressure on the aggressor must work.

From the evening address. (3/3)

any idea of the veracity of this Hormuz Letter?
Seems to be a mixed bag.

The "Hormuz Letter" is an unofficial, unattributed social media account (often posting on X/Twitter) rather than an official geopolitical channel. Its assertions, mostly amplifying or analyzing reports from Iranian state-aligned media like Tasnim, lack verifiable, independent backing and are heavily contested.Claims frequently made by the channel and their relative truthfulness include:Secret U.S./Iran Communication Lines: The account has repeatedly claimed that direct U.S.-Iran communication lines regarding the strait do not exist and are a "complete lie".Truth: The U.S. government maintains that there have been private communications and back-channel discussions, directly contradicting these claims.
Nuclear and Geopolitical Agreements: It has reported that Iran flatly rejected any conditions to hand over enriched uranium and has threatened to cancel all upcoming negotiations.Truth: These reports stem primarily from Iranian op-eds or unattributed quotes. The channel’s absolute claims on the status of negotiations are viewed by international observers and U.S. officials as speculative or posturing.Strait Status and Blockades: The account portrays Iran as in total control of the strait, dismissing U.S. ultimatums as illusions.
Truth: The waterway is the center of an active, escalating military standoff. U.S. officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, have deployed naval assets and struck military infrastructure to combat Iranian interference, making the situation deeply fluid and disputed.Overall, the account's posts do not reflect official, corroborated government statements. Instead, its posts primarily serve to amplify a hardline Iranian perspective in an ongoing information war.

so they, in effect, repeat Iran's lies and Fox repeats Trump's?

At best he had a pair of sevens. Unfortunately the dealer flopped Ace, King, Queen and he refused to think about what hand the other player might have.
Pretty easy to see how Donald J Trump was able to do the impossible...bankrupt a casino.

Just no business acumen other than being the recipient of a massive inheritance.
Ain't America great?

MAGA screams about entitled, blue state elites - all well electing an entitled blue state, trust fund elite.

You really can’t make this sh*t up. Honestly we appear to be too stupid as a nation to have a well-functioning democratic republic.

if you ever watch the "man on the street blurbs on you tube, your opinion of our stupidity would be reinforced. Our people can't answer even the most basic questions, like what country is on or nothern border, or the best one ever "what language is spoken in Idaho"...answer "potato"

Some people also get manipulated by videos created to enforce sweeping generalizations fueled by cherry picking. We are doomed.

How insane is it that Trump is being forced to back down from this because we're running out of bombs?

And wtf is Trump's military spending its money on? We just gave it $1.3 trillion. Makes me wonder how much money Trump and his family are skimming off the budget into their own pockets?

When I keep seeing the push for AI, all I can do think is that we are wasting gobs of money and resources on a useless technology

Exactly. What MAGA people fail to realize is that most people don’t see the world as black and white as they do. One can know for certainty that Trump is a mess on Iran and still not trust ”the dems”. IMO that is a reflection of the ineptitude of dem leaders like Schumer and Jeffries (both of whom are deep into AIPAC money) and not an indication that somehow people trust Trump.

Beating dem leaders by 2 points on a trust poll is not worth celebrating because in November it won’t be a generic “Dems vs GOP”. It will be a bake-off between 2 specific people in every district. If they would look around they would realize many, if not most, Dems can’t stand the notional dem ”leaders”, but that disdain typically does not extend to their representative. Particularly when a divisive figure like Trump sits in the Oval Office.

Eric Daughtery is a clown and perfect for MAGA.

Exactly, the democrats are going through a painful recalibration right now. AIPAC money is going to be seen as a death sentence for a lot of candidates.

What they refuse to understand is the reason Dem Congressional approval is so low is because Democrats are angry that they didn't stop Trump from winning a second term and they don't feel like they're fighting him hard enough now. But that has nothing to do with the candidates in the fall, many of which will be new faces. Somehow, they can't separate those two things in their minds and they falsely believe that current congressional polling means Dems can't win in November.
