No — this is a well-documented fake. It's a fabricated screenshot that circulated in May–June 2020, and multiple independent fact-checkers debunked it, including Snopes, PolitiFact, FactCheck.org, and others confirming there is no evidence Ocasio-Cortez ever posted it.
A few key points:
- FactCheck.org confirmed her Twitter account shows no such post, and even accounting for claims she deleted it, ProPublica's archive of her deleted tweets shows no such tweet.
- A spokesperson for her office directly said she did not write this, and AOC herself tweeted that the alleged "deleted" tweet was a photoshopped fake.
- No news outlets covered a real tweet like this despite AOC being a highly scrutinized public figure — only outlets debunking it.
- It originated as an image circulating in Facebook groups and other social media forums around June 23, 2020, months after the supposed May 20 posting date.
So the image you uploaded is a fabricated screenshot, not a real tweet.

- The quote in the meme is fabricated with no record of AOC saying it, though she has opposed Republican blocks on non-citizen local voting rights in Washington, D.C.
