If I'm not mistaken coach pope was the one to start practicing at Rupp. I recall before Pope, UK never really practicing at Rupp and it was a big talking point his first year here then they started holding at least some practices there.

Kentucky boasts a historical all-time winning percentage of approximately 89.6% (around 90%) at Rupp Arena since the facility opened in 1976.

Hasn't seemed to hurt us much in our history lol.
True but we've lost some head scratchers at home. A game that sticks out is the Crispin Brothers from Penn State. I can still see Joe Crispin and his limp wrist before he shot the ball. It was cocked at all times and he was letting it fly from all over the court.

years ago I was on the Duke campus for business and I see Cameron arena right in middle of campus and walked in the Duke team was practicing, I got to watch five minutes of practise before I was booted out. - maybe that's a plus for them - also a plus that that old stadium was built square in the middle of campus so the students could watch. It's like they didn't outgrow their memorial stadium.

I just replied to a guy saying Kentucky has as much money as Duke. He’s just wrong, sorry.
The reason they have kept that small arena is they don’t need the revenue a large corporate arena produces because their alumni is ultra wealthy. That’s the way they like it. Tickets are for the elite. Not everyone.
It was genius marketing years ago to put the students directly on the floor. That has built rabid student fans.
Now, go out there become billionaire fans with this Duke degree. Maybe, if you make enough. You can be one of the elites that get tickets.
Chat says you can expect to pay 30k for a seat at floor level at Kentucky including KFund.
To even be considered at Duke. You must be an iron Duke with a donation or 100k or more. Then 30k donation to what would be our Kfund. Then ticket prices are not published because they are a private school.
But homeboy thinks we can spend with Duke. Lol

I was at that game. We sat in a zone for some inexplicable reason. Joe’s brother was also drilling shots.
On November 25, 2000, Penn State defeated No. 22 Kentucky 73-68 at Rupp Arena, led by brothers Joe Crispin (31 points) and Jon Crispin (26 points) who combined for 57 points and 13 three-pointers.

You play thousands of games in a place, you are bound to lose some head scratchers

But I don't think there's really any correlation to that and not shooting ahead of time at a specific place. I'm sure even the top schools that do practice in their own arenas, they've also lost some head scratchers.

Prolly so. Though we've had some people come in and proceed to light us up.
